Hey New Grads! I just wanted to start a post about the upcoming New Grad RN program at UC Davis. I thought it would be nice, and anxiety calming, to start a thread to share about the application process. I just finished my application. I was surprised there were no supplemental questions to fill out. Anyways, Good luck to everyone!

Oh yeah, Anyone else apply for previous cohorts? Maybe you could share some insight into the process. I'm hoping for a transplant position, I LOVE transplant nursing. I spent 2 rotations on a transplant unit in school in Colorado and LOVED it.

PICU is pediatric (Pediatric intensive care unit)

I know what the picu stands for thanks. They do have a med surg unit for peds

My apologies, I miss understood your question, I didn’t know you were asking about other pediatric units, it came across as if you were just asking about pediatric in general.

Thanks for your help :) I called the nurse recruiter and the peds med surg is hiring. They couldn't tell if my app was forward to the department.

I don't think they were hiring last time but looks like a lot of units are hiring this time around

Now we play another waiting game :down:. I so need a job....Does anyone know how many people they are h1ring for each unit?

For those of you you spoke to HR and got lists of which departments are hiring could you post them one more time? I called today and the lady in nurse recruitment said they did not know who would be hiring....I'm glad everyone is on the same page there. I have a friend on PICU and she said she would be extremely surprised if they took a new grad but she will be double checking with her manager. Thanks for the help everyone, and good luck!!

I have a friend who works in the picu and she said they are hiring. The nurse recruiter also said the picu and peds med surg was hiring. Best of luck
