Hiya folks!
It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.
Is anyone else already excited for next September?

Or were you on the waitlist but you've been offered a seat?
I was on the waitlist but now was offered a seat. I don't know if we also have to do it by today! Also does anyone know a phone number to call to reach someone?

Your welcome letter should have an updated due date on it. All my stuff is due on June 14th.
I haven't been able to contact anyone by phone. I think email is the only option since people are still working from home? But I've found they respond fairly quickly.

Mine said that until I got my acceptance letter! No need to worry.
Does anyone have any more information on what the schedule will look like for September? As far as length of classes/ labs/ clinicals? Or whether we get days off? I thought we would get 1-2 days off a week, but looking at previous BSN schedules on UBC's website it looks like we're in classes or labs or clinicals 7 days/ week for the most part?
Does anyone know how long the clinicals are (standard 10/ 12hr nursing shift, or shorter)? Or roughly how long the lab days are?
Hey!
The schedule can look kind of crazy but don’t worry, you will always get 2 days off per week! They make it look like that because not everyone will get weekends off, about half of my cohort had clinical on weekends and then had two days off during the week. Those two days also may not be consecutive. Prior to COVID they front loaded labs the first term so we had a couple 2 hour labs per week the first 3 weeks, and one 2 hour lab per week for the rest of the term. Clinical started in the 3rd-4th week. I’m not sure what their plan for labs is for this year, I heard that the 2020 cohort had less lab days but they were longer labs. Clinical in term 1 and 2 is 8 hour days, usually 7-3 but some placements also had evening shifts. You won’t do 12s until term 3. Clinical placements are ranked in the first week of classes and you find out your placement usually during the second week. Hope this helps!
