Hiya folks!
It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.
Is anyone else already excited for next September?

From the discussion, during the Q&A session of the information session, it seems to be more on how your experiences from volunteering or such can relate to nursing, which doesn't necessarily need to include health care experiences. Therefore, it seems like hospital volunteer positions are nice but not the entire picture.
Hi, everyone! This is my first time posting on this forum and it looks like everyone is on the same boat...eager, nervous, and experienced!
I have a question that I am not sure has been answered or not:
For part 2 of the application that asks about experiences related to commitment of learning, etc., is this word limit also 50 words? I went to drop-in advising and I did not really get a solid answer other than to assume it is 50 words like part 3 (volunteer experience, etc.). I hope this question makes sense! Wishing you all the best during this different year.
Edit: I went back and most people say that it is 50!

Can someone please give me examples of what may be written (or what you have written) for the second section of the supplemental? ("List of Additional Learning and Accomplishments")
Gosh, I didn't expect the supplemental application to change. I was busy involving myself with extracurriculars (volunteering, club involvement, etc) because I thought the supplemental application form will be the same as it was in the previous cycles. Therefore I didn't gain any additional learning experiences (e.g. certificates, licenses) nor have I sought any academic recognitions. I didn't expect this change at all; my mind has gone blank because I have nothing to write here.
Anything would be helpful. Thanks, everyone.
Hey,
I'm not sure what the supplemental application looks like this year, but accomplishments might not have to be technical. It could be you accomplished a public speaking task OR...
if you don't have this yet, this could be a certificate you put in the application: Just 10 minutes of your time online =)

It doesn't matter, they aren't looking at applications until after the deadline. Handing it in earlier doesn't give you an advantage whatsoever because they need to rank everyone's applications with one another. I recommend taking your time with the application, even if you have finished to just save it on SSC and submit it a day before the deadline just in case of technical difficulties. You never know when you're on your way to work, that you might end up helping a bleeding head injury on the side of the road that you feel you could write a more persuasive statement about why you want to become a nurse. =P
Not sure if anyone else is having the same problem.. but everytime I write something on my supplemental and SAVE it and then I go back to recheck the application, all of my writing shows up as empty? like nothing has been saved even though I clicked the button so many times? anyone know why this is happening? :(

OMG, I am so sorry that sounds so annoying! This has not happened to me yet, but it's definitely super frustrating. Maybe copy and paste in another document as well just in case (you're probably doing this already).
Hello Everyone!
Hope you're all doing well. I have a quick question about transcripts. When UBC received your transcripts from the institution you attend, did they write official transcript received on your application status page? On mines, it's referred to as interim transcript and says nothing about it being official or unofficial. I might be overthinking this but, just wanted to confirm with someone

Nevermind, I looked it up. It is not required for UBC and I will not be taking it LOL. It's an additional mini test where you record yourself instead of typing it out. No thanks, I'll pass! ?

What do I do if I don't have any awards to list? Should I just not try to apply? I don't have anything I can fill out ?
