For UBC, I know the competition is extremely tough. A lot of applicants have previous degrees or professional qualifications. That being said, while a higher than minimum GPA always helps...volunteer experience and a very thoughtfully written 'essay' portion (if they still use that for the application) will definitely factor in as well. That was about 2 or 3 years ago now. Not sure if things have changed.
Above all... good luck, stay focused and be positive!!!! :)
Hello all,
I also have applied to both UBC and BCIT for Fall 2009! I'm just wondering when you are expecting to hear whether or not you have been granted an interview for UBC? And for those of you who have applied to BCIT when do you expect to hear back?
I'm already not a fan of this waiting game!
Thanks for the help
hey coastline! simplicitygirl told me UBC will probably be finished reviewing our applications by early March and those who are lucky will be invited for an interview before mid april. The interviews are for april 26-29 and those who are successful will be sent an acceptance letter my May. Not too sure about BCIT, maybe she can help you out with that. Good luck!! :0)
wow, im glad to see this thread being revived! I thought people forgot about it xD Yes, like I told clementine (nice name, by the way), interview invites are sent out by mid april, interview taking place at the end of april, and acceptance letter out by mid may. Good luck to us all =)
And about BCIT, I believe the group interview takes place in June-ish. Not too sure, but its something I picked up from reading other forums. (I'm such a stalker eh?)

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody is also applying to the UBC Nursing program this year for the 2009 intake...and also, for those that are in the program, or have graduated from the program, would you kindly please tell me what the program is like, as well as your admission average (based on the 30 credits that UBC Nursing looks at) and your supplemental application...to better prep myself for the application process.
thanks in advance.
