UALR RN Program Applicant 2015

Published

I just wanted to see who else will be applying for this year? I'm already excited to start classes next week for the last of my pre reqs. I just finished 12.5 years in the Air Force so I have 60 hours of college completed before joining. If anyone else is in A&P I or Micro with me let me know. I look forward to this year in many ways.

I'll be on the wait list for accelerated if slots open. But I'm happy to get the traditional route to start off. I can't wait to meet y'all. I'm still just so excited to be accepted! I can breathe now!!

I got an email saying I've been wait-listed. I have a good feeling that it's because I'm currently taking A&P I and they want to see what grade I end up with in that class. Does anyone know anything about the wait list process?

Everyone who got their acceptance letters have until Friday to accept or deny. I imagine they'll take all the accepted numbers and if there are any slots open after that, they'll start at the top with the wait-listed folks. You'll definitely hear something by the end of the month.

I'm also currently in A&P I.

Does anyone know if they have sent all the letters out today? Haven't received anything yet.

This was the email I received:

"Thank you for applying to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Associate of Applied Science in nursing program. There were a very large number of qualified applicants that applied to our program, so the Nursing Admissions Committee had a very difficult time making final determinations for entry.I regret to inform you that you have not been selected for entry at this time. However, you have been placed on our waiting list. Should any spaces become available, we will notify you by e-mail of our final determination by the middle or end of June."

This isn't the same as a rejection email, like those are sent out too, correct?

I have no idea..i don't not if not receiving anything means they plan on sending rejection letters out tomorrow?

It is not the same as a rejection letter. They do flat out reject some people, while some get wait listed. Here's how that process works: within the next couple of weeks, they will accept some wait list students based on the number of people who accepted. Then they will admit a second round of students for the last summer class based on the number who fail out of the first one. My class had 30 or so fail out. So they then admitted 60 for the second summer session and roughly half of those failed out. So it's really a wait and see based on the numbers of who accepts and who passes the May/June fundamentals course.

That was very helpful, and it makes me feel a ton better! Thank you so much

For those that got accepted congrats. For those that haven't got a letter yet don't worry. I know that's easier said than done. Like FutureRNArk said you still may get accepted if wait listed. We did have some fail or drop out of the first half of the summer. Then others replaced them in July. Also as people fall out in the program you may get put in accelerated. I know one girl that was wait listed, came in the July class and after a few of the accelerated people failed out she was accepted into accelerated. Start saving money now b/c you're gonna need it for those extra costs that financial aid doesn't cover. For the LPN's you guys will be joining our class in the fall. Start a facebook group as well. Good luck to everyone.

Do they send out acceptance intermittently?

My friends nor I have received any kind of email

there is no reason they would flat out reject me I have called, just have gotten nothing for the LPN to RN.
