UAH fall 2015 admission hang-out thread

Published

I spoke to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) yesterday, and she stated that our determination letters will get mailed out by the end of this week. I'm dying to know if I got in or not, and I'm sure the rest of you are too. I'd be really curious to hear from anybody that received an early letter already!

Soooo... I don't know if this means anything or if it's just common, but I looked at my registration status for Fall 2015 and it says I'm "Junior Division Nursing, Nursing". I'm slightly excited to see a change, but I still don't know if I should trust it... It could also just be one of those "well we do it for everyone, but you need to be admitted for that change to mean something".

Canvas is just UAH's online space. It's like Blackboard is for Calhoun. UAH used to use a division of Blackboard called Angel, but it was le terrible, so they switched back to Canvas.

I'm not sure what the change to 'junior division nursing' means. I wish I'd paid attention to all of this stuff when I first started going to UAH, it'd sure come in handy now. It might have said 'junior division nursing' all along for all I know.

Is it under major and department or enrollment status as a junior?

It's under Major and Department. It used to say "Lower Division Nursing" so I'm hoping this is a good sign. I noticed because I thought it was weird for it to mention that I'll be a junior when it previously said lower. I just wish I had a letter already! This wait is driving me bonkers. Lol

I'm almost to the point that I don't even truly care anymore. This seven week wait has been so stressful that when I get it, I think I'll just stare at it blankly and then walk inside lol

I've decided that if I do get in, I'll probably break down crying. I've already accepted not getting in. Lol I think I've got it backwards.

I believe it is a good sign since it changed :) congrats . Mine says the same no change so it must mean something that it changed . Time for me to change majors I guess . Got wait listed last semester but this one I should have been good. Early congrats to all who get accepted :)

Hey Bobbi73

I considered majoring in Spanish or Music if I didn't get into the nursing program this time around, then being a double major once I got into the program. Maybe you could consider doing something like that if you are financially able? If nursing is your final goal, don't give up! You could always apply out of state or other colleges. I didn't even know that UAH had a wait list, but you'd think they'd draw from that list as well as the current pool of applicants.

I wouldn't stress yourself out about changes or no changes to your major status. UAH us making changes to the program for students that are accepted this term. Namely, no summer classes, slightly more clinical hours, etc. It's possible that the online designations are different due to us being first time applicants during this change.

If I don't get in, I'll retake the HESI, do better, and reapply in spring. If I get rejected then too, then I'll start retaking classes that I didn't ace. I'll get in eventually. That's how averages work.

Out of curiosity, what did you guys ending up scoring on your HESI A2?

My first one was a 77 in early January, but I was told to aim for an 80 so I retook it in late Febuary and made like an 81. What about you?

I got a 91, but only because I landed perfect scores in the reading comprehension and vocabulary sections. I scored a 75 in anatomy and an low 80-something in chemistry, and they look at those two the most.
