UAH fall 2015 admission hang-out thread

Published

I spoke to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) yesterday, and she stated that our determination letters will get mailed out by the end of this week. I'm dying to know if I got in or not, and I'm sure the rest of you are too. I'd be really curious to hear from anybody that received an early letter already!

Still waiting on my letter! :nailbiting:

I have not got mine yet. I get nervous every time I check the mail. I applied last term and got wait listed. Hoping I get in this go around. Anyone know what GPA has to be to get accepted? I know min 3.0 but do you get in if you have that and all prerequisite done?

Hey guys! I JUST made an account on here because I saw this, but I'd been reading a lot on here. I applied to both UAH and Calhoun and I spoke to the person you spoke to (if I'm thinking of the right person) at Admitted Student Day and she said that they would be sent out by the first week of April. I've been soooo nervous because I thought that something had happened and I'd probably missed the deadline and I wouldn't get into nursing school. Haha. I was also told about how much their changing things up (NO SUMMER CLASSES YAY!) and they've changed the amount of students they let in so they'll take 112 each entry for fall and spring. I really hope I get something in my mailbox tomorrow or Saturday. I'm not very good at waiting even with a full load of classes. Good luck to everyone that applied!

Oops, sorry about the beach of TOS. I'm new.

The good news is that today is letter mail out day! Good luck everybody! We should all know by Monday at the latest!

Good luck everyone!

Honestly, I'm so excited that after I saw that comment about it being mail out day, I checked the mailbox. Even though I checked it earlier. Good luck you guys! May we all enjoy nursing school together!

I got home and had a letter from UAH waiting for me. My heart immediately sank because it was a regular business sized envelope, and a friend of mine told me that rejection notices are standard sized...and acceptances are full-sized manila mailers. I was crushed.

...Until I opened it. I got selected for the Nursing Excellence scholarship! Still haven't gotten my acceptance letter yet, but I'm assuming I wouldn't get a departmental award if I'd been rejected. So...I'M IN!

Seriously though, the fact that scholarship notifications went out before determination letters is kind of hilarious.

slaneyder,

Are you a current UAH student? I'll be a transfer and I've already received a scholarship from UAH as well as had my financial aid processed. I had friends who said they were in the College of Nursing before being accepted into the upper level of the program and I think one of them got that too.

Calhoun won't let "pre-nursing" students go by anything but a "General Studies" major. Kinda a bummer because UAH lets "pre-nursing" students fall into the "Nursing" major but in the lower division. (At least from what I've heard from friends that attend UAH).

I've been bouncing back and forth between Calhoun and UAH for a year. I did two semesters at Calhoun, a semester at UAH, and I'm back at Calhoun this semester due to scheduling constraints. There was only one section of Microbiology at UAH, and the timing of it wasn't good for my work schedule.

Frankly, I never really bothered to check and see if I was in the CoN yet since it doesn't really mean anything until you're accepted. If that's the case and the scholarship doesn't mean acceptance, then I'll just...keep waiting I guess. UHG.

Hey! I hope it means acceptance! Just a little bummed I didn't get a scholarship too I guess. I like free money. This semester I tried so hard to take music appreciation at UAH, but because it would've interfered with a lab, I couldn't do anything, but take Calhoun's hybrid class.

I REALLY want to go to UAH because I don't like online classes and feel like if I got an ADN then bridged over, I'd fail.

Here's to hoping we get big manila envelopes! Ohhh with the giant "ACCEPTANCE" on the outside.
