UAB Summer 2014

I've been lurking here, looking to see if anyone would be starting a thread on the UAB MSN cohort for Summer 2014. Nobody has yet, so I'm doing it!

Application deadline is October 28th! Is anyone else applying to start next summer? I've applied to the WHNP program, and have gnawed my fingernails down to nubs over it.

I think God has a plan. Period. Ya know?!? There are so many programs and one for everybody! Gotta find your niche. Where there is a will, there is a way. From what I've been told if you can become an RN, you can become an NP! They say RN is the HARDEST part!

FA2NS: Let me know what the school says. I don't think you have to get it notarized, it didn't mention anything like that in the directions.

I think all we need is a witness. Period. I know my punctuation on here is deplorable. I am using an iPad and am lazy. Hahaha

Spoke to lady at UAB. Form only needs a witness signature not to be notarized.

Thanks FA2NS! I faxed all my papers and called to double check that they've gotten everything. They said it was okay about the advisors signature.

Anyone else still waiting for a letter? I have holds on my account for a background check and drug screen, I've been assigned and advisor, and on my transcripy my status is listed as NP grad student. I'm 30 mins from Birmingham and stressed about not having my letter yet!!

Has anyone received a rejection letter yet? I haven't been home yet to check the mail, but I'm already starting to think about alternate plans.

I received my rejection letter in the mail today. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I'm gonna roll my application for UAB over to Fall 2014. I'm gonna hope for the best with the other three schools I've applied to in hopes to start in the summer still

Nothing in the mail today. I wonder if they mailed the rejection letters a day behind the acceptance packets?

Dimples: What other schools did you apply to? I'm going to email AH once I get my official rejection letter and see if there are any specific ways I can improve my application for next time, and I'm thinking of applying to be a non-degree seeking student and maybe start on some of the classes (like pharm and advanced pathophys). Maybe that, along with having some actual nursing experience under my belt, will improve my app.
