Has anybody received any news from either UAB or South Alabama for Fall 2011, I applied for this past summer and I was told by South Alabama the program was full so to increase my chances, I applied for UAB and USA this fall. I am not sure if there is anything I need to do, my overall GPA is 3.2, I am not sure if I have a chance in any MSN programs. I will take all the advise and pointers I can get. Please help. !!!

I applied to UAB for fall 2011. I have not heard anything yet. They are accepting apps through May 27th, so I think it will be a while before we hear anything. I also applied to UAH and haven't heard anything. Hopefully we wont have to wait too long. Good luck!! Keep us posted if you hear anything!:nurse:

I've applied as well. my GPA is a 3.37 from Mercer U/Ga Baptist. Submitted my app back i January with 4 recommendations from 2 CNS, my Charge RN, and my unit Preceptor. Been a RN-BSN for 2+ years now.

So, I'm hopeful to hear from them soon! I just hope my application didn't get lost in the stacks since I submitted it so early.

The informational MSN worksheet states we find out within a month of the app deadline of May 27.

Goodluck, everyone!

UAB is really slow on informing and choosing candidates. I received my acceptance letter almost two months after the deadline to have materials in. I wouldn't worry about how long it takes, doesn't mean anything. The acceptance and rejecting letters are sent at the same time. With a 3.2 GPA you should get into at least one if not all of the programs you applied to.

So glad you posted, I have been obsessed and worried for months! I applied in Dec with a last 60 GPA of 3.7 (and a current student). Cant wait to get this last journey of school started (and finished). Good luck to everyone who has applied!!!

I applied to both USA and UAB. USA was my so called safety school; imagine my surprise when I was denied admission, lol!!:eek:

Keeping my fingers crossed for UAB!

Yikes, I hope UAB will work out for you! Did USA say why you didn't get it? -Or what the cut off GPA/test scores were.

Good luck! I hope we both get in!

They said my GPA wasn't high enough. When I responded that my ADN GPA was 3.5 and my BSN GPA was 3.4, they didn't respond, go figure. I hear UAB's program is more highly regarded than USA's.

I hope you have better luck!

WOW, sounds like they missed out, not you! GL with UAB - I hope you get a better outcome! I guess we will just hurry up and wait until they let us know!

I know, right?! UAB uses the last 60 credit hrs to calculate gpa so my gpa standing should be even higher for them because my grades were a lot higher for the last 60. My gpa is kind of weird. I did my nursing prereqs at the same school I returned to for my RN-BSN completion. I really tried hard to stay above 3.5 this year and during my ADN program.

Our unit intensivist just completed my recommendation so now I'm so nervous, I'm on pins and needles.
