Hello Everyone,

I wanted to start this thread for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) MSN program Fall 2019 applicants. We can use this thread to keep track of the application process, GPA, application deadlines and acceptance or denial letters. Also as a way to stay sane during this stressful time. Support each other during this journey to become an Advanced Pracrice Provider.

I am applying for Fall 2019 MSN Psych Program for PMHNP. I finish my BSN in May 2019 and have my ASN with a GPA of 3.76. My GPA for the BSN should be 4.0 if all stays the same grade wise. My letters of reccomendation are from the program director ar my University, a member of the Faculty team and the Nursing Director of the Surgical Services Department at my workplace. My application letter is APA formatted with at least 3 references and close to 800 word count. Application deadline for the PMHNP track is Febraury 21, 2019.

What specialty track are you all applying to? What are yor GPA scores. Do you plan on taking the GRE? Share any thoughts.

In previous years there has been a short of trick to check if you have been accepted. However, it didt really worked until like a week before officially finding so we dont gain much by doing it lol

What is this sort of trick you speak of? ? One week before is at least something ?

I have another question - have y’all logged back into the application dashboard? If so, do y’all have a drop down box that says: events and another that says appointments and interviews?

If I click it, it just opens a page that says “error” ??‍♀️

Applied to ACNP program. Pretty weak overall GPA but my last 60-80 hours is ~3.7. Had pretty good LORs, currently working in a level 2 mixed ICU, came from a level 1 trauma doing med/surg float and icu step down. Been a nurse about 3 years. I figure it'll be another month at least before we start hearing anything. I'm typically a pretty good writer and I think my essay was alright but the APA formatting thing was strange. I kept it more personal and made sure to answer all of the questions they asked and went right up to the word count limit. Good luck to everyone

yeah I can no longer log into my application dashboard. it just comes up with an error message that says "404 page not found"

I made an account just to reply to this haha! I work in the ER and have a background in social work. Mom, wife, etc. I applied for the PMHNP program and agreed with everyone about the APA essay being difficult to incorporate the personal with the academic.

Did anyone else apply to The University of Alabama?

I did the same thing too...no worries! Venting and asking on this forum helps with the anxiety of having to wait for what feels like half a year! ?

From what I read on previous years forums, you can try and create a BlazerNet Student ID using your social security number. If it works and you are able to log in you may be able to see your application status and track acceptance. It wasnt a 100% sure thing back then but some people were able to see their acceptance that way about a week earlier than the official letters were sent.
