Hello Everyone,
I created this discussion for those of us who are applying to the AMNP program for 2018 to ask questions, share information, etc.
Congrats on your interview. From what we were able to gather last year an interview is a great sign. Most people said that there were only a few people that they saw at interviews who didn't get in. My advice would be to be yourself. I know that sounds cliche but it's true. Lol. They already like you guys on paper so the interview is your opportunity to show them your personality and why you want to do this program. I honestly don't remember the questions because it's all a blur. The director has changed since then so they may be different. But if I remember correctly they are typical interview questions like "name a time when you were a leader" "tell us about a difficult time you faced" They might also ask if you are financially prepared for the program. Be honest and if you need to pause before you answer a question that is okay too! If it's like last year then after the interview you will try on scrubs and the at the end you meet with the program director. Some people got offers on the spot. I did not! So do not freak out if you don't get a letter that day. They may still give you a packet which basically means you're in. I got a packet with no offer letter that Friday and Monday morning I got the acceptance email. Again don't panic. Most of the people who got offers on the spot went to UAB or they had high gpas. That's the only rationale we were able to come up with. Lol. Good luck and be yourself. An interview is a great sign!
Hello, and congrats to everyone invited for interviews! I also have an interview on October 30. Very nervous and excited! Has anyone come across tips to prepare specifically for this program's interview?
