UA MEPN 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!

Congratulations! Once you can get on UA Access and have been officially accepted to the Grad college, you should be able to go right to the D2L site and the class will be waiting. I would start ASAP because there’s a ton of busy work that takes a very long time. There’s 9 modules and I’m only on #4, which has us reading the MEPN handbook and taking a quiz. Plus videos to watch, one of which, is an hour long. I’m told there’s a math quiz and paper to come.

I'm sure this was probably addressed on the webinar or somewhere on this thread but does anyone know when we will get the exact times for our classes?

Has anyone gotten past module 4? I completed it but it just redirects me to contents instead of module 5.

@cbanks05

The times of classes aren't constant, but generally lecture will run from either 8 or 9am to about noon, and then you get a lunch break. Then you have lab from like 1 to maybe 3 or 4. I don't think we ever had a class past 4pm. Unfortunately the times may be different from day to day and you won't know the exact schedule until the class opens on D2L.

@jnurseapp make sure to open every link provided on the page ? that should fix it

There was a notification that we may not be loaded into the system yet to take those modules so to skip those for now and do what we can, and he'll send out an email once we're clear to go back and take those.

Thank you! It was the survey, I didnt realize there were two questions. oops dumb mistake!

Has anyone get any detailed email about induction day?

Hi. I am interested in applying this year to the MEPN program and I wanted to double-check about the topics the HESI covers- is it just math, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar sections? Or are there any science sections? Thank you and congrats to everyone who made it into the program - your posts are really informative and have me excited!

It’s just the math, reading comp, vocabulary, and grammar sections.

Thank you for the quick response! Such a relief!

@karenm I’d highly recommend the elsevier hesi guide and the HESI pocket prep app! Super helpful!! Best of luck to ya! :)
