UA MEPN 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!

The EHR site offers a 18month subscription for $97.

Thank you. Did you buy the bundle? Im not sure if I should get it. Current students did you use the Davis’s Nursing Skills Videos digital (access card) 2017 or Essential health assessment 2018? Or better questions which books did you not use?

Hello everyone!!! I got accepted from the alternate list into the Phoenix location!! SO excited to meet you all :) I can’t help but feel behind do you know if you can purchase your uniform and books at the UA medical bookstore In Tucson? Would be so much easier than waiting for them to ship online. Let me know!! :)

Congrats! I'm not sure about books, but now the program reaffirmed that the bookstore is the place you are supposed to get uniforms from. Ask for the order form that you might not have received via email yet.

Also, I went ahead and got the bundle since a lot of the books in it require the access code. I priced it through Chegg, Amazon, and B & N and the discount in the bundle off of the whole package makes it cheaper. I'll be trying to get the rest of the books used or rented.

I bought the bundle last year and it was honestly easier to just do it that way. I got almost all my books at once and didn't have to worry about access codes or anything. Saved me a lot of stress! The essential health assessment book is super helpful the first couple weeks of class, and then the main books you'll be using after that are the basic nursing book and medsurg book, which require access codes.

Is anybody else having an issue with the HIPAA cert class? When I press enroll it says "internal learner ID is not valid." Not sure if I'm just missing something?

@BrenMau I had issues with the courses, too, and I called IT to fix 520.626.8324. It might be a systems issue with your account that they need to address. Hope that helps!

@lemm916Thank you! I just called IT and they said there was something wrong with my account so it must be the same as what happened to you

Does anyone have a solid answer on being able to rent out windows laptops at the Phoenix campus for tests? I see that it is possible for the Tuscon campus. Thanks.

Hi! I was recently accepted from the alternate list at the Phoenix location! Still trying to catch up to Castle Branch paperwork. However, I been watching the webinars and they discuss an orientation course and/or a D2L site. Has anyone obtained an email about either? I did sign up for the in-person orientation for the week of May 7th. Not sure if I am confusing the same things. Thanks in advance!

@elisa0108 Congrats! (Writing at 3am Arizona time you must be so energized) You should have gotten an email to your school account.

Also people post useful things on the official MEPN Facebook page that you'll quickly be approved for.

The orientation isn't due before class but people recommend to do it before to get it out of the way. I believe its similar to the HIPPA stuff on Castlebranch but much longer. I haven't done it yet.
