It's never too early to start talking! I'll be applying this fall for the 2017 cohort. Who else is applying? Are there any current or recent alumni that can give their insight on the program? What will the interview questions be like?
Good luck to you all this weekend. I am from the current cohort and I am completely happy with my experience. I have experienced no drama at all. And I have made some great friends. For some people, this program is a bit intense and the pace of the BSN is a better fit. I personally am quite happy to zoom right through without any summer breaks. There pace is very fast -- you will be quite busy, but I have been able to make time daily for exercise / walking. There will be members of the current cohort available at your interviews to discuss any questions you have.
Another advantage to the program is the MEPN students have a good reputation in the local hospitals and if you plan on staying in the area you should have no problem finding a very good position. My advice to you is to do your research and just make sure you are committed to this and that this is the right program for you. Again, good luck!
I also believe both posts are from the same person, considering the similar bitter tone, similar writing style, and the timing of when both accounts and posts were made. I've seen some negative posts in pasts threads, but I've also seen positive ones as well on allnurses and other sources. This person's comments are concerning, of course, but they could also have had an unusual experience or be exaggerating and dramatizing things for whatever reason. I'm not going to let it affect my views on this program. (@lsepp, I would be interested to hear what your friend has to say, though!)
That aside.. I am wondering if those of you submitting your fingerprint clearance card applications are using a black stamp ink pad for the actual fingerprinting? I'm a bit confused about that process. I am out of state and I just received the packet in the mail. Thanks in advance.
@ilovemyyorkie, you'll take it to your local police station and they will take your fingerprints for you. It requests that you fill out the application in black ink, but I don't believe that applies to the fingerprints. When I went and got mine done, they used red ink and they do those fingerprint cards routinely.
@Hhoward92 thank you! That makes more sense haha.@cyclone67 thank you for your input! I'm glad to hear you've had a great experience. Do you have any tips for the interview?
Google typical nursing school interview questions -- Do some practice before hand. They are very stringent on the 10 minutes. It will go by very quickly!! So it definitely helps if you practice with a friend if possible. I did the Skype interview so I'm not sure how the group interview goes. For the doing the Skype -- you will be the only interviewee.
For those of you doing the Skype interview, has anyone had the College of Nursing add you to their contact list on Skype? The interview email mentioned that I may get a notification that they added me, but this hasn't happened yet and my interview is in less than two days. Just wondering if I'm the only one and I should be worried haha.

you call the DPS number that they sent in the email and when you talk to someone they ship you the application and everything you need. @heythatsmybike
