UA MEPN 2017

U.S.A. Arizona

It's never too early to start talking! I'll be applying this fall for the 2017 cohort. Who else is applying? Are there any current or recent alumni that can give their insight on the program? What will the interview questions be like?

I just got my acceptance! Good luck everyone!

Congrats. I got mine too. I don't know how I will pay for tuition and living though. Someone on the waiting list might be happy. Any suggestions on how to make this work... anyone?

You'll get 40k in federal loans automatically. Any additional expenses, including living expenses should be covered by the graduate plus loan. It's super easy to get, provided you don't have a bankruptcy or a lot of debt in collections. I also have been worried about paying for it, but I've done a lot of research and the federal government really provides a lot of loan money for grad students.

I don't have a lot of debt but I have some and yeah, some in collections. Not tens of thousands though.

The 40k in sub/unsub loans will be given regardless of credit. Look at the credit guidelines for what is considered "adverse" credit for the plus loans. That should help. If you don't meet those, you can get a cosigner. I realize that obtaining a cosigner is often easier said than done. It looks like there are a lot of scholarships as well.

does anyone know if we have to be CPR certified already before starting the program? It never had that in the admissions requirements

You do have to be CPR certified before starting the program. I saw it somewhere on the nursing website.

Thats really odd because that was no where to found in the application

I'm accepted too! Congrats!!

Do we have to have a certain certification? Or just a general CPR

You will need to take the American Heart Society BLS course. It will qualify you for adult, child and infant CPR for 2 years. The CON will send you a packet via email shortly with all the information you need about that and more.

They will also be providing you information about scholarships through the CON. Also, if you haven't yet, sign up for the U of A scholarship website and start applying. Go ahead and fill out your FAFSA -- it is pretty easy. It autoloaders most everything off you tax return from last year.

Congratulations to you all. Get ready to be busy!!

Do you know how long that will take to get my certification?

Thank you for the information
