U of Calgary Degree Holder Winter 2015

Published

Hello,

This is for anyone who has applied to the Degree Holder Route at U of C. I just wanted to let people know that if they have transcripts that still haven't been ordered from an Alberta Institution (through ApplyAlberta), give the admissions office a call (403-210-7625) and have them request it to be sent.

I was checking myuc everyday waiting to see if my transcript from Athabasca had been ordered and it still hadn't. I called admissions and the man told me he had to put a request for it to be ordered from Athabasca.... good thing I called or else they might not have ordered it in time for the Sept 30 deadline!

Im a transfer applicant

take a couple courses and try again for sept mandy172. i have faith you'll get in, it's just a matter of time.

how is everyone doing? are classes full yet? any degree holders wait listed?

97/120 so far.

And the admissions GPA is still at 3.4 at this point?

trying to be encouraging, but honestly, just want to dig a hole in the earth and crawl into it

Hi StrawberryGarden,

It's okay my friend. There are still other options even in nursing.

Remember "when one door of happiness closes, another opens."

You're right anurseson. i'll finish classes this semester and try for a program that starts in september. down the road, when i attempt the mcat, i'll fulfill the requirement of 2 years of full time studies in fall/winter semesters leading to a bachelor of nursing, then they can use it to calculate admission gpa on most recent 2 years of studies.

Anyone know if they are still admitting students or is the program now full? What was the gpa cutoff?

117/120 filled.

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to apply for after degree program next year (presumably Winter 2016) and I was wondering how strict they are on the Anatomy/ Physiology requirement. I am currently enrolled in a 6.0 unit phsiology course at Queen's University (PHYG 210) and a 3.0 unit anatomy course (ANAT 101). Since they aren't offered as 1 anatomy & physiology I am wondering if it mattersor not?

Hey kzos, I think what you have is okay as long as you have at least 3.0 credits of physiology and 3.0 credits of anatomy, that those courses are human anat/phys (as opposed to animal), and that they cover all body systems. Check out the link below, though. It tells you how to verify if your anat&phys courses count: http://nursing.ucalgary.ca/sites/nursing.ucalgary.ca/files/A_P_Update_Oct2012.pdf
