wanting some opinions on the best compression hose or socks. I cant find any in my local uniform stores and I hate ordering online and having to return things. I currently only own one pair of knee high compression socks and I really like them but I dont remember what brand they are or where I got them I have had them for 2 years. Does anyone know what the difference is between the thigh and knee highs???
To the OP...Knee highs go to your knee and thigh highs go up to your thigh. pretty simple, but i just choose to wear regular short cuff socks. as a man I have leg hair to be tugged on, so no compression socks for me. have tried them and they feel great for the compression part, but then they start to pull hair...not cool!
You could always shave your legs!
If your leggs are tired not only you need good stockings or support hose, you also need a good nursing shoe, like Nurse Mates, Dansko, Rockers that has a lot of support, don't go by the fancy styles, make sure that the shoe is hugging your foot, not tight but close enough to give you support all day, sneakers are good for a few hours but
shoes stay with you all day, while the sneakers stretch and stop giving you support, also a good idea is to build your shoes to 2 pairs and switch every other day so the shoe dries and doesn't loose their shape.

Thanks so much I havnt tried the nursing shoes. There is a place here called Foot Solutions which makes custom made insoles for your shoes a bit pricey anywhere from 150-400.00 but you can put them in just about any shoe
When you first come into nursing and you are young, you don't think about support hose or shoes, but as time goes by on you do 12 hours shifts you will be happy to wear support, invest in a good pair of nursing shoes in the long run it will be good not to have to worry about your leggs, save in uniforms bun NEVER save on shoes.
