Hi everyone, just last week I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I am 19 years old and I am now insulin dependent and I have a few questions because it's all new to me. Why does my sugar level go so high when I just wake up? What can I do to prevent that? Are there any tips on lowering my blood sugar ?

They did not put you on insulin?

These are questions for your Physician. Please give them a call and have a list of questions already written up so you don't forget.
Good luck to you !
Sorry I realized I had a typo earlier which I fixed now. I meant to say I am NOW insulin dependent instead of the word "not". So yes, I am on insulin.

Yikes! This is a condition that needs to be well-managed. Do not take advice from strangers on the internet. People are not always who they claim to be, and that applies to some "nurses" on this site.

As per the Terms of Service of the site we can not offer medical advice. You really need to speak to a healthcare professional like your doctor and ask these questions face to face
