Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
OK, I have a question. Has there ever been a Dallas campus TWU (not Denton) open house to view the facilities or anything like that? If there was I guess I missed it. I would love know some "tour" type things, but I guess maybe we'll be getting an orientation since we'll be going there? Maybe? Right?
I don't think so. The Houston website has dates and times. But I noticed the Dallas one does not. Everytime, in the past, that I have called TWU Dallas and ask about an open house, I was told it would be a group of students that can ask questions. Both times when I went to this "open house" it was an individual one-on-one review of GPA, HESI, etc with TWU Dallas faculty or the secretary. I don't know if, at orientation, there will be one...good question to ask.
Patho material is killing meeeee...I spent way to much time this week focusing on when acceptance letters were going to be mailed. yikes.
Yeah, I don't think they have "open houses" either. When I asked about a tour of the Dallas campus before I applied, they told me point blank they weren't giving tours bc they are building a new building.
I hear you on Patho, Goopsy. I shot myself in the foot this time. I haven't spent nearly the time studying that I did for the last test. I was too caught up in anxiety about acceptance as well. Oh, well.
Ladies, There is a orientation day/time for the new incoming students. I remember when I had Patho at Dallas that the students were allowed to leave early to attend the session. This is where they give us the low down on everything and we can ask questions. I am strictly going off of what a friend who entered in Fall 09, told me!
Study, study, study! I have a test today too! So hard to focus when SO MUch Excitement!!!
Regarding orientation, I was checking previous blogs and from there I came to know that spring students had their orientation on dec 4. Now I am also making list what things will be require for programme (like scrubs, shoes, wrist watch, digital recorders) and from where we can get this in best prices. I dont know but some one was mentioning that CON require to buy us white leather shoes with no print on them.
ANY inputs?
I have no idea about the shoes I went to an orientation for a different school and they said they just wanted white shoes (did not have to be leather and that the logo could be on there but very small/limited). I don't know if TWU is that lenient.
...and I was wondering what the color of the pants is called exactly (I have been looking a little online and there are a few different shades of the maroon color). I'm trying to get ahead and spread out how I am spending money (cause there is going to be a lot of money spent!)

I emailed asking about that and was told burgundy pants, white top, white shoes with TWU patches on the shirts. The burgundy color is sometimes called wine.

I GOT IN!! yayyy :) Houston Campus!! I also got into UTHSCSA and I am waiting to hear from UTHSCH and A&M, but TWU is my first choice, so I'm going to accept the offer! I loved the facilities and everyone I have talked to at the open houses and tours. Has anything been planned as far as a get-together for the Houston class? Can't wait to meet you all! :)
