has anyone had much luck getting in to see an advisor? I had questions about the nursing application but wasn't able to get in touCH with anyone by phone or email today. I was told I didn't have to send transcripts to nursingcas and now I guess we do? Can they change the application like that without telling us? I just don't think that's fair and now I haven't been able to talk to anyone in the department.

You have until September 1st to send in all transcripts

I AM SO FRUSTRATED. I have a 4.0 Pre-Req GPA, scored a 92.7 on my TEAS, and have a previous bachelors. An advisor calculated my points at 65. I only applied to TWU and I have met with 4 advisors starting last spring and can't seem to get the same answer out of any of them. I met with 2 last April that sent me instructions on how to apply. It was an email attachment that very thoroughly and simply showed how to apply. It said DO NOT send official transcripts to NursingCAS and do not enter in manual transcript (I entered pre-reqs in order to be able to submit it). So I applied on June 2nd, happy for getting it all in early and being done with the stress. August 1st I decided to make an appointment with an advisor to just basically confirm that everything had been received correctly and that I was good to go. Thats when the advisor, very nonchalantly told me that in fact I did have to send those things into nursingCAS and I showed him the email and he said "that's incorrect". When I tried to get in contact with the advisors I previously met with at TWU denton campus, I can't even find their names anywhere on the website even though I have email correspondence with them from April......... So I immediately sent in my official transcripts to NursingCAS which were received but it wouldn't let me manually enter them because I had already submitted. So I called the advisor back and he gave me the email of someone else to contact and they emailed me back yesterday and I was able to access nursingCAS and to not enter anything in incorrectly (I have taken many classes with a previous degree) so I chose to pay 65 MORE dollars and use the professional transcript entry service from nursingCAS and then nursingCAS said that would take up to 10 days......SO I STILL DON'T KNOW IF TWU RECEIVED MY APPLICATION EVEN THOUGH I THOUGHT I HAD FOLLOWED ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPLETED IT IN JUNE. I worked so hard for this and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone at TWU and I am freaking out a little bit. I am already an accepted TWU student, NursingCAS application was otherwise filled out, TWU has my official TEAS scores, and Nursing CAS AND TWU have my official transcripts. I hate not knowing what is going on and I don't understand why the rules changed, why I wasnt informed until August 8th (my advising appoint, earliest one I could get), and why none of the advisors I previously met seem to even work there. :(((((

Oh no, I'm so sorry! But I think you're all good now! The deadline is today, Aug 15 11:59pm (eastern) so 10:59pm (central) in Texas!

If you were able to get back into your nursingCAS and do the transcript entry I think you're safe! I would try to get a hold of someone at nursingCAS to double check. But if you paid $65 I think everything should be okay.

The transcripts don't need to be verified by the deadline, they need to be entered and submitted by the deadline! And TWU has your teas score. You sent your official transcript to TWU and nursingCAS so I think you are good!

I was able to get information when I went to an info session a couple of months ago at the Dallas campus. The Dallas nursing advisor informed us exactly of what to do and repeated it because it is confusing. But maybe keeping your emails, the names of people you talked to, and screenshots of when you sent transcripts will help you in case something is missing!

I think checking this thread once in awhile may be helpful! I know it's cleared up some confusion I had with the application process.

So sorry about everything, it is tough and the process is so long!

I was having issues getting my transcripts, and an advisor told me I have until September 1st to send in all transcripts. You should call nursingcas after 10 days to see if it's done yet, and if it's not, call them frequently until they complete it for you. It may be annoying, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Good luck, and don't stress too much!! Just do what you can.

I totally undertand your frustration. The same thing happened to me!!! I scheduled an appointment months ago to meet with my advisor in August just to check in and make sure I had everything that I needed to apply. I was all ready to submit my application, but I didn't because I wanted to go over it with her. That's when she explained to me about having to send transcripts and type in all my classes. She said that the change to the application was made by somebody higher up in and they didn't really have much choice.

I was upset at the change too and asked her how come they didn't notify people and she showed me where on the application it said that we had to send official transcripts to NurSingCAS and type in all of the coursework. I guess I just totally skipped past it when I was filling out the application.

It would be impossible for them to catch notify Eeverry single student who is thinking about applying, but they did put it in the application So maybe instead of complaining, we should pay more attention to what the application says. I'm not being funny or anything to you because I did it to. I just skimmed that section of the application and didn't read it as thorughly as I should have, but when she showed it to me I was like Oh. It DOES say I need to send transcripts.

It was here in this section

DO NOT SUBMIT THIS APPLICATION IF YOU DO NOT YET MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE CRITERIA. We are strict on the above requirements. If you are unsure whether you meet one or more of the above requirements, please set up a consultation with a TWU Nursing Advisor by calling 940-898-2401. Phone appointments are available, if necessary. We would rather you know in advance that you are not yet eligible for admission consideration than have you find out after you've submitted your application.

Oh shoot that sounds terrifying! I'm actually surprised to hear your experience! If anything it's good you found out about it before the deadline even tho that isn't ideal since you were so prepared since early this summer..... @ras0240. But I agree it sounds like you have everything they need now!

Now I'm second guessing if I followed everything right but yea all we can do is go by the application checklist sheet they gave us like @BWoods_FutureRN said and hope for the best!
