Hello everyone,
Are you applying to Houston, Dallas traditional, or Dallas N&W? I am applying to TWU Dallas traditional in August for Spring 2021. Right now I am finishing up some nursing core classes and I plan on taking the TEAS over the Summer if corona virus allows it. I also have TWU preference points that helped my admission score a lot.
What is your admission score? As of Spring 2020 admissions, to calculate your admission score, you can use the Google spread sheet. Download the file to put in your classes and grades.

My advisor said that the competitive range is between 50 and 55 for Dallas traditional.

Hi - I am a current student at TWU in Houston. I started Spring 2020. You will need a stethoscope for lab and clinicals. It doesn't matter what color you get. You will also need a watch with a second hand. Hope that helps. Good luck to everyone applying. Don't stress.

Thank you so much! Can the watch be a smart watch?
Hi all, I still have not received anything from TWU. I had some major transcript delays to NursingCas because of out-of-state schools "working from home", but I haven't even received a rejection letter yet for them not being in on time. So maybe they haven't even looked at my application yet...

It depends how picky your clinical instructor is. Mine allowed a smart watch as long as the screen doesn’t fade out in under a minute. You will be counting respirations for one full minute and pulse for 30 seconds in assessment lab.

Got it, thanks for your help! It's so nice to get guidance from someone in the program!

Hi! I’m going to be in the Spring 2021 cohort for the FNP program. I started a FB group today for students in that cohort. Hopefully it can be used for to support one another through the program. I just uploaded the group. Hope to connect with you all soon!

I have what might be a silly question. In the NursingCAS application there was a question that stated, “If your first choice is not available would you consider admission to another campus? (Note: Houston applicants are not eligible to considered for the Dallas campus).”
By checking Yes, does that mean there is a chance Dallas applicants might get rejected by the Dallas campus but accepted into the Houston campus?

Yes.

Yes. The way my advisor explained it to me was that if Dallas was your first preference, but you didn't get into Dallas, you could be accepted into Houston. However, if Houston was your first preference and you didn't get into Houston, you would not be considered for the Dallas campus. Hope this helped!
