twu spring 2012 applicants!

Published

Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!

About me

I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed :uhoh3:

I'm applying to Dallas as well. I wish they had some sort of info session like most other schools. I've learned so much from going to those for UTHSC and UTMB!

@bluebird I think that's a great idea. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate! I didn't know TWU gave full or part time options which is really great, and I think you're probably right about being able to absorb more of it!

@ Cristina,

I don't know iif Dallas offer info sessions, but Houston definetely does.

So i transfered from collin and have a 4.0 for my sciences and math in the first time around. and my overall GPA with a retake in 2 classes not counted which were from my party days lol... is a 4.0 because i retoke them and they say they only count highest grade. My TEA V score not to hot 76%. i do not get .4 bump. i suck at timed test. I wanted to know do i have a chance to get in????? My first time applying to this school and dont know how it works... HELP???

I have read posts from previous application periods where people have gotten in with gpa 3.5 and 75 on their Teas. I think you have a great chance.

Ahhh! This waiting game is going to be the end of me! How did everyone do on the Teas V? Apparently last year acceptance emails were sent out on 10/20, hopefully we will know sooner this year. Anybody know how many people applied?

Guys,

Please tell me how you studied for teas V. I will take it for the third time, and if I can not pass it again, I ll change my major:( I know I make a mistake somewhere, but where???Please help me!!! any comments, any documents will help.

Thanks a lot.

@Ranaz! I studied the ATI manual which was great for

Math, Reading, and Language.

For sciene I used Chemistry for dummies, A&P for dummies, and Biology for Dummies

Plus youtubed difficult concepts like chemical bonds and chemical equations.

I studied for two weeks and made an 86.

Hi Nela87,

Good for you. at least you passed the exam...I couldnt. I got 60 on it,and prob, i will retake it in november for fall:( I feel hopeless. this is my last chance to retake. I think I need to study more chem.

@ddrj.85,

You look very intelligent. in two weeks, that's great! When I hear something like that, I feel so stupid:(

@ Ranaz! Lol. Thankyou! The thing about the test is that it's cumulative knowledge spanning from highschool to college. It would be difficult to relearn it all. My advice is stay calm, read the questions carefully, use process of elimination, and use all the time allotted. The most difficult to me was language skills. Sentence structure is not my niche. The ATI manual was very thourough in language, reading, and math. I also fOund that the practice teat really prepared me for the format of the test.

Good luck

I graduated from high school in 2004. and I was in my country that time. I think I don't know the strategy for the exam. I need to change my study method. I ll follow your advice. I appreciated.

Good luck Ranaz! I think ddrj's advice was great. Pretty much the same study skills I used too. the ATI study guide really helped in that the wording of the practice questions was just like that on the test.

again, good luck!!! I know you can do it!!!!
