TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019

Published

Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

I may just be crazy, but whenever you apply to one program does it automatically apply you for all the campuses? I can't figure out how to apply for Houston.

In nursingcas go to the PROGRAM MATERIAL section and then the campus options is in QUESTIONS. Hope this helps.

Does anyone knows if you can apply for both TWU nursing programs? The traditional and N&W?

Unfortunately you can’t. However, if you apply for the weekend/evening program & don’t get in then they will roll over your application to the traditional Dallas program.

Does anyone know the lowest admission score accepted for the traditional program in Dallas? I saw someone post that the lowest admission score accepted in Spring of 2018 was 51...i'm really close to that score so i'm not sure whether to apply for dallas which I prefer or Houston

I think the lowest score accepted to the Dallas traditional program last year was a 54.4. The advisors posted it in that forum. They did say that was a super competitive year though.

Students come into TWU with automatic admission. If you apply and make it into the Honors Scholar program and you’re a nursing major, you receive admission into Nursing school automatically. Like you come into TWU as a freshman already technically having a spot “reserved” for you, but you still have to maintain a certain GPA (to remain in the honors program), and then still make at least a 64% on all TEAS sections, and then apply like everyone else. Also, there are other different situations where a student can earn early/automatic admission into nursing school, I just cant remember them right now :)

But for example, a student with the automatic admission could think “hey, I don’t need to do as well on the TEAS because i’m Already accepted.” So they do low on the TEAS, making their “score” lower, but it technically doesn’t matter because they have their admission still.

But I wouldn’t let this worry you! As long as you feel great about your stats, that’s all that matters! :-)

I’m almost positive that students who have automatic admission aren’t included in the regular applicant pool, based on what the advisors say. If you have automatic admission you only have to meet the minimum requirements. Even with the twu bump, a person with a 3.0 and a 64 on TEAS would have an admission score of around 20. So I think they are separate from the applicants who are applying normally!

If I took the teas at TWU, do I still need to send my transcript?

Thank you very much!

This may have been answered somewhere else, but if my transcript on nursingCAS still says not received by the deadline does that mean that TWU wont accept the application? ??

it honestly depends on when you sent it...the advisor i spoke with made it seem like it was a case by case basis...i would speak with an advisor
