TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Yeah! But they only look at your overall gpa & science gpa. You only have to pass the TEAS & it doesn’t factor into your admission score!

I wouldn't worry too much! You can log in to your NursingCAS application and check the status. Before the advisors at TWU can process your application, NursingCAS must have already "verified" your application. So that is your first check. (I am attaching a pic of what my status looks like as verified.) Once you know that is done then you could contact an advisor to see what's up. Wylijanna Cole and Rekah Nair have been very helpful to me (Rekah Nair is directly associated with the Dallas campus). On last years "allnurses" forum I saw a post from the TWU nursing advisors on like March 11th saying that all of the eligibility emails have been sent out and by that date everyone should have received the email. So they may just not be done with all of the processing yet ?- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Yeah did they specifically tell us that N/W program will hear at the same as the traditional programs? Or do we just not know when they’ll tell us?- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
I hope that they end up finishing the N&W program first & letting us know! In the past those who don’t get in get their application rolled over for the traditional program, plus there are less students in the N&W program, so it would make sense for us to hear earlier! But we may just have to wait???- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Example: A in Chemistry (4 credit hours) =16 B in A&P 1 (4 credit hours) =12 A in A&P 2 (4 credit hours) =16 C in Microbiology (4 credit hours) =12 A in Developmental Psyc (3 credit hours) =12 B in Statistics (3 credit hours) =9 16+12+16+12+12+9 = 77 77/22= 3.5 GPA- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
They don’t take overall GPA into consideration, only your science gpa. Your science GPA is calculated from Chemistry, A&P 1, A&P 2, Microbiology, Developmental Psychology, & Statistics. If you make an A in a class that is 4 points, B= 3 points, C= 2 points. You multiply the points from the grade you make by the numbers of credit hours the class has (example: A&P 1 is a 4 credit hour class). You then add up all of the points after multiplying your grade points by credit hours. Then you divine this total by the total number of credit hours from the 6 classes (which should be 22 hours). This is your science GPA that is taken into account for your admission score!- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Ok... you’re awesome! Thanks so much for posting this!!!- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
I know, it stinks not having the bump! I think there’s still a chance that you can get into Dallas this year. I’ve heard that some lower scores are accepted through the waitlist. Last fall was really competitive, but this spring the lowest accepted was like 51.4! So I’m sure you still have a shot! And your gpa is awesome, so even if you don’t get in, then you can easily study for the TEAS & raise your score a ton for the spring 2020 application & get to stay in Dallas! It’s crazy how fast your admission score raises with just doing a little better on the teas!- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Did TWU email you that it was verified or nursing CAS?- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Which campus/program are you applying for?- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
I’m applying to the weekend & evening program with 48.76 points. I’m a transfer student from the University of Oklahoma, so unfortunatley, no TWU bump or previous bachelors degree:/ I know the lowest accepted last year was 48.3, so hopefully I have a chance of getting in? Good luck everyone!!!- TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
It will be included in the excel sheet as long as you filled enough hours from twu in the spread sheet. (I believe it’s something like 30 hours.) There is a place on the excel sheet that says “TWU Preference” if in the box below it says “YES” then it is including the bump, if it says “NO” then the bump has not been added. - TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
