Nursing Students School Programs
Published Jul 16, 2018
Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

Hey everyone! I took the TEAS again and scored a 90% composite score this time around! I’m applying to the Dallas Traditional program but my admission score is only a 48.23. I’ve seen the stats about previous scores accepted...do you think I have a shot at all? From what I can see in this thread, everyone’s scores are pretty stellar.

Hey everyone. I am applying to the nights and weekends program with 49.63 points. I know I will be right on the verge of possibly getting accepted.

My admission score is 49 and I was worried about being competitive, so I called. The advisor was really busy but she answered my questions. The lady I talked to today said that even though my score was lower sometimes people with the lower admission scores get in on the second round. When they send acceptance letters people say no or they don’t respond so they send acceptance letters to the next people who have the next highest admission score. So sometimes people With lower points can get in that way. Also I have a friend who applied to the Dallas campus last semester but she was excepted to the Houston campus because her scores were high enough for Houston but not high enough for Dallas. Maybe they will do that again this time? I apply for Dallas but I would be willing to go to Houston if they asked me to.

Does anybody know who would be the best advisor to talk to? Whoever I talked to today had no idea how to answer my questions. I can’t remember his name, but it’s like he didn’t know anything.

Ms. Cole and Ms. Edwards have been helpful to me. Maybe try one of them? ?

I called and the number wasnt working so i emailed and they sent an automated email with another phone number so i called that one and the person who answered kind of sounded like she just wanted to get rid of me and responded to my thank you with “uh huh” and hung up on me in the middle of me saying “have a nice day” ? She said that as long as the transcript is post marked before the deadline it should be fine, but Im not sure how credible her information is...

yea the cutoff for 2018 was 48 pts, hopefully it stays around the same or a little lower!

hmmm...maybe try calling and speaking with a different advisor, or email them at the nursing email address....my advisor was pretty helpful, but I did setup an appt to speak with her and she did mention how busy they have been with it getting close to the deadline
sooo its getting close to the deadline and i'm getting anxious LOL...but looking at fall 2018 forum there were 10 applicants who posted their scores (for N&W) and they ranged from 50.87-69.2 and with the cutoff being 48, i feel like anything over 48 we still have a good chance since that was one of the most competitive cycles yet and i was advised that 90 people applied for N&W that cycle. Hopefully this help others feel a little more confident too! Still wishing all of us good luck for whatever program you applied to! ?

I’d email them so you have an answer in writing. Paper trails are important. ?

Hi all,
Just wanted to pop in and say I've finally submitted my application. Admission score is a 47.70 with hopes for Houston campus! Now, the waiting game...
