Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.
Hi guys, just thought I would post a little PSA for anyone who has submitted an application and has sent a transcript from one of the Dallas county community colleges. Because each college under DCCCD has its own name, like "El Centro College" or "Richland College" etc, NursingCAS may not register it as coming from Dallas County Community College District. This happened to me today when I got an email saying my app was undelivered because they didn't know that Richland, where I took a class last summer, is the same thing as DCCCD. It sounds confusing but if you sent in a transcript from DCCCD I would be on the lookout for an undelivery notice and call nursingcas ASAP to get it fixed. Unfortunately even though they corrected it, my application went to the back of the line for verification
If you haven't taken classes at DCCCD this wouldn't apply to you, but I figured at least some of you have. Just FYI!
I also emailed my advisor (at TWU) to check if verification has to happen before Feb 1st and she said no, they just come back to those applications after they get verified. So don't worry about that!

hmm...i sent one from northlake from 2 classes i took this past fall, one class was at north lake(on campus) and the other class was at cedar valley (online)....but i didn't have any issues with the transcript...thankfully...but good to know
When I called a few weeks ago and asked they told me to add the names of the other schools and then they basically duplicated the transcript for the others. I took classes at North Lake, Mountain View and Richland. My transcript came from North Lake and I originally had all my classes listed under North Lake. So I had to add MV and Richland to my list of schools and then NursingCAS duplicated the transcript for MV and Richland. It only took them about 24 hours to complete that. But I am still waiting on verification to be completed.

that's weird. I put BOTH of my classes under northlake (since there are in the DCCCD district) even though one was at cedar valley and i didn't have any issues and my application has been verified since 1/8
also, i've taken classes at other DCCCD schools, but i put ALL of them under northlake w/no issues.

Thats good that you didn't have any issues! I guess I was one of the unlucky ones. At least, in case it doesn't get verified by the deadline, it won't affect anything. I guess it just depends on who reviews your application. Its funny because I actually have a hard copy of my official transcript from Richland and it says "Official Transcript of the Dallas County Community College District" and then "Richland College" right next to it LOL. Not exactly sure where they got confused.

They only told me that it was very competitive and granted me a scholarship and option to major in other health-related majors. I assumed maybe it was because my TEAS score was low, however I thought I had a good amount of points to combat my low TEAS score. Though this time I scheduled an appointment with them to just make sure that the points I have now matches with the points they will calculate.

Hmm. That doesn’t sound right. Are you sure you have the bump? You must have 32 hours or more from TWU that count towards your major. Classes taken for a minor or other stuff that isn’t texas core/nursing pre req/ required by the university does not count towards those 32 hours. 59 points should have gotten you in. You’re smart check on that with an advisor!

Well I took one class in the summer last year just to have 33 hours from TWU, but thank you these are very good questions that I will make sure to ask and verify in my upcoming advising meeting!
