Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.
Just now, pm178 said:Hi everybody,
I am interested in applying to TWU however i am so confused on how to calculate my GPA using their spreadsheet. Is the total admission score adding up your nursing core and pre req gpa???
no, just your nursing core GPA, TEAS score, and any preferences you have
So my score is 51.4 and I am one credit off from receiving the bump! Its crazy how much of a difference that bump makes because with the bump I would have a 69.4. But I know that everything happens for a reason so instead of Dallas, I applied to Houston, so we will see how everything goes.

Those are great stats for Houston and you never know how “competitive” Dallas will be this fall...either way Good Luck! Hope we all can pull off an acceptance letter!

I keep seeing that the "bump" helps could you explain to me what this bump is or what it means?
Hello everyone! ?
I applied for the Dallas program last semester for Spring 2019 and did not get accepted. I had a 3.96 GPA and a TEAS score of 82 with TWU preferrence my total points was 59.97. I am reapplying to hopefully get in for this fall! Here are my new stats after retaking the TEAS based on the TWU worksheet:
Nursing GPA: 3.96
Prerequiste GPA: 3.84
TEAS total score : 87.3
Admission score : 67.97
Do you guys think this competitive enough? Or should I retake my TEAS to boost my chances?
Good luck to everyone applying!

Have you spoken with an advisor to make sure your points are correct? When I emailed them I was told the lowest admitted score for Spring 2019 was 51 pts so I would double check with a nursing advisor

the "bump" is just "extra" points you get for have a bachelor's degree or 32 or more prerequisite hours at TWU (you also get it if you have a bachelor's degree and 16 pre-req hrs at TWU)
for the evening/weekend "people" someone posted this on the Fall 2018 post about how the evening/weekend program has went so far....
"I just finished up my first semester in the night and weekend program. The first semester we had 3 classes (pharm, patho, assessment). Patho is completely online and you can take it in the summer. If you take it over the summer, you will only have 2 classes your first semester. Pharm was a hybrid class. We had class about 2 Tuesdays a month (5:30-7:30) and the rest was completely online. You listen to pre-recorded lectures at home and the class time is used for going over the harder material and testing. Assessment was every Saturday - 8 AM to 4 PM (lecture and lab). We had a couple Saturdays off, but not many (Ex: Sat. after Thanksgiving). Next semester we will have 3 classes. One is completely online and the other 2 we have both lecture and a clinical for the class. We have class every Tuesday and Friday 5:30-8:30 PM , a 7 hour clinical on Saturdays, and a 12 hour clinical every other Sunday. Please keep in mind that this could change for incoming classes. I just wanted to share my experience so you kind of have an idea of what it might look like for you."
