TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019

Published

Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

So If I am taking my TEAS at TWU, I dont need to send scores right? Just update the scores on NursingCAS?

You don't need to send them. I just met the advisor today and she told me if you took it at TWU they should automatically receive score. If you want verification feel free to contact them to make sure!

Hey guys, the advisor I met with today also told me that they're hoping to send out replies the Friday before Spring Break. Hopefully they can but I suppose it'll also depend on how many people are applying. Fingers crossed! Don't wait for the TEAS exam to send transcripts btw. Some schools may take a week before their transcripts are received if by mail.

i wonder if the evening/weekend program will hear first like that did last fall (since they usually don't get too many applicants)? i was going to ask that during my advising appt next week

Good question. I would think so since there's less people applying to that program. The applicants are usually busier and have tighter schedules so it'd be better if they got their answers earlier.

have you already submitted all your info to NursingCas? they can be a little slow and you want to make sure your application is verified by the deadline

Hi @BreeFutureBSNRN, I submitted my application on Apply Texas, but how do I access the NursingCas? and do I have to mail my official transcripts to them? or the school can do it electronically?

have you been accepted to TWU? if so then you go on the nursingcas website and register and then find TWU so you can apply with your TWU student ID. yes, you have to send your transcripts to BOTH TWU and NursingCas and yes NursingCas do accept electronic transcripts (its easier and quicker)

Over the summer I got the mometrix book and studied from there the most. The first time I took the TEAS it was before I took A&P 2 and I got a 84%. Science was my lowest section. I also looked for practice questions on whatever websites and apps I could find for the TEAS. For me, practicing questions has always been the most helpful for me at least for math, english, and reading. The first time I took the TEAS the english section was a lot more difficult for me and confusing. The second time around I thought the questions were a lot easier to be honest. For writing I did about the same on both times.

Thanks for your response! I did horrible :( hope I do better when I take it again.

TWU would send you a letter in the mail and or email (i cant remember). I would contact them regarding your application status so you will know where you stand bc you need to be accepted to the school before you can apply to the nursing program

I was following the 2018 application thread and saw that they found out like 2/23. I am hoping we will find out around that time as well. It makes sense though since they put some folks that don't get into the N&W program into the pool with the traditional applicants. I plan to ask during my appointment next week as well. Mine is on the 24th.

Hi everybody,

I am interested in applying to TWU however i am so confused on how to calculate my GPA using their spreadsheet. Is the total admission score adding up your nursing core and pre req gpa???
