TWU Houston Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

I've been out of town at my honor society convention...lol super tired

Ruchita33, are we still gonna check out apt as planed after registration?

hey guys, i was wondering if anyone new what the summer classes schedule was going to look like. Like will we be there 1 day out of the week all day or twice a week half a day?, just asking if anyone new about it. ... i'm super excited about though, can't wait until we start, ---just to be clear according to lilray we only need to take notes, we dont need a book right?

Hey everybody check, I got my financial aid! ^^

m-cabos. according to pioneer portal. The houston summer class is fom 3:30 to 8:50 on thursdays. starts 6/11 and ends 8/13

sophia was that financial aid from Fafsa? I wasn't able to apply for financial aid or scholarships cus i didn' know much about it? Do you know if the aid is just for a sem or the whole year? I wanna apply for it so at least i could help my parents out a bit financially.

you should definitely apply anyway r33sa, it does not hurt to try.

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ Fill out your fafsa here.

You might have to request for electronic pin number if you are the first time applicant. :)

They will give you steps to pin request

I didn't get much free money either. But at least I can take out federal loans which do not accumulate interests while you are in school.

If you are dependent, you will need to fill out your parent's income... just request a copy of fax return from your parents. :)

It takes about 3 days for fafsa to process your application and it take the school 1 month to process the calculation. Let me know if you have additional question.

hi guys!! yea sophia i am def down to go look!.. um as far as the apts. i downloaded this app on my itouch, and i found a couple apts that look good as well and are around the same price.. i dont have it on me now, but when i do.. ill put the names on here.

The school just sent me a letter saying to fill out the cif if I already haven't which I have. We'll see how much they give me. Has anyone looked into wells fargo?? I would like to be able to get the money instead of the school if possible. I know sallie mae had that option on certain loans

people, if your financial aid (grants and federal loans) can't cover all the expense of nursing school and you are still looking for some alternative loans, please visit www.hhloans.com. They have a college Access loan which does not accumulate interests. :) Might wanna check it out!

princess, wow nice to hear from you again! I missed you! How are you doing?

You can fill out your CIF online you know?

Just login to the portal and then click on financial aid and there is a button for CIF. you can check your correspondent status to see what kinda documents you are lacking... good luck. :)
