I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.
I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.
I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!
(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)
I'm pretty sure you will...maybe not in houston..but I know a few areas that are DYING to get RNs..some are even offer things like sign on bonuses and what nots....
Well..I cant think of any more questions to ask ... but I'm pretty sure I'll come up with some later
Thanks for your help littlerae!
here is a link that kinda tells about the job outlook right now.

WOW littlerae, I am shocked to hear about the job search. I was planning to apply at West Houston Medical Center because it is close to my house. The way the economy is right now I cannot afford gas driving to Med. Center everyday since I will not be working. My injection nurse even told me that I should try to apply to hospitals as a a nurses assistant on per diem schedule to get more experience as a nurse. She said that she knew people in her nursing clinicals that were awesome giving shots and what nots but when they went to the hospitals they freaked out. Besides you can have a little cash in your pockets. I am hoping the economy gets better by time we graduate. Littlerae thanks a bunch for your advise and heads up. You will become an awesome nurse and maybe some day we will be working side by side as nurses saving lives. THANKS!!!!!
I totally agree, Sophia. Beside the nurse I spoke with she said that if you find a hospital that will do it, they will be so happy to accept your application because they feel that you may go and work for them when I/we finish school. I plan on applying in August because I have already given my current employer my last day, which is August 21st.

Hey guys, check out this apartment. The one bedroom is expensive but the 2 bedroom is awesome. The total is like 1110 for 2 people! It has all the security system that we are looking for and it is quite close. :)
