I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.
I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.
I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!
(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)
Hey ya'll i want to take my mom too, I mean it seems only fair for my parents to see what they will be paying for.....let me know if ya'll are going to take someone on may 8th....cuz my mom wants to go too....i always feel more safe to take another person, because its like having an extra set of ears, sometimes i won;t hear something and they will-lol- maybe i'm just being a big baby and need to grow up a bit...lol
i dont even know what this summer class will cost,,,,what r ya'll houston people planning on doing for patho....R33ssa who did you call about the shots the health dept,,,can you post the # because i have some questions too,,,,also r you guys filling out these forms by yourselfs or are ya'll getting a dr. to do it...and r ya'll faxing actual records or just the immunization sheet???
OMG!!! I have not been on this for a few days now and I have missed so much. Sorry guys. From reading all your comments it appears that you guys have gotten the Patho class and resetting your start date figured out. That is cool. I even learned that we need to wait to until May 8th to sign up. I will be there extra early because I am most definitely taking it during the summer. As for taking it online, the only Patho. class that is being offered for Undergradutes is not an online class. It is an on campus and Prof. Miguel Dacunha is teaching it, which I hear that he is really good. It will be held in room 1120.
As for the drug testing, I took mine yesterday. It was not that bad. I also have to get two MMR shots (received on yesterday) and my updated PPD shot. I should have all of my immunizations by May 8th. That is when you need to turn in your completed Immunization form (if I read the letter correctly). Also, what I was told by Celeste Shepherd that we need to make a copy back and front of our CPR card (if you have already taken the course) to give to our Health advisor on May 8th.
Oh I will be going to the seminar alone. I am 28 and besides my husband is working during that time. I know he would love to go but he will be working :-(.
Sure!! It is as follows.

let me know if you still can get it. I will be happy to email it over if you would like.

After talking to my parents and other people about it, i think i am going to take patho online over the summer. Im sure that i'll have a lot of free time b/c the job is part time, i just prefer lecture over online. I'll try to talk to my boss and see if i can get thursday off... i doubt it though. Thanks for your advice!
Murse, are you still planning on taking the patho class online... b/c i think that is what i'm going to end up doing if they offer it.
