TWU Houston Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello, my name's Tien and I'm going to apply for TWU Houston Fall 14'. I noticed there's a topic for Dallas but none for Houston so I'm starting this one, hoping it will be a place for us hopeful applicants to come and share information.

BTW, my stats are: GPA 3.892, TEAS V 85.3%, 2/4 first attempt, and previous BA in Business. I'm scared b/c of my "1st attempt" since I see most that got in have 3 or 4/4 :nailbiting:...

So, welcome and good luck to us all!!! :):):)

Do you mean as far as acceptance?

acceptance and denial...I know that uthsc applicants will know wether or not they've been accepted by the 15 th of this month...

I'm not sure. Have you called to see if you we're wait listed or denied. Acceptances were due on the 31st of March. If all spots aren't full like if someone declines and goes elsewhere they will send out another round of acceptance letters until the 100 spots are filled

I don't believe so it's possible to be wait listed as well. Have you called to check your status?

What number can you call to check your status for twu

I would call the Denton office. Not sure if the number but it's on the website.

Hey I was wondering about how much books, scrubs, lab coat, and kits are for the J1 semester?

Here is the brief version:

Books - depends on what you buy and where from. Your required list of books is HUGE, most of which you won't need or use. However, they do make great door stops and paper weights.

Scrubs and Lab coat - also depends. You are required to have the following: white top, maroon bottoms. Lab coats are optional, but I strongly recommend one. For every top or coat you need a patch ($3 on campus). You can buy from a vendor on campus at the May orientation or buy on your own.

Kits - you are required to buy a stethoscope which can run from $20-200. I carry a ~$70 littmann, it is has worked great for me. I also own a very expensive littmann but don't use it as much. If you want other things (scissors, pen lights, BP cuff, etc...) you can go crazy on that stuff as well.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! :)

I just wanted to let anyone know, that is interested, I will be moving back home after graduation so if you need some furnitures feel free to contact me. If any of you are from another city besides Houston and you're looking for places that are suitable for students to stay at, feel free to contact me about that as well.

Thanks! Where are some reasonable priced apartments not too far from the campus

Has anyone got their packet yet? This seems to be taking forever!

I was also wondering that too, has anyone gotten their packets yet? I still feel like its not official until I see the big white packet lol! Silly me… hehe

No I haven't either. Ms. Cheryl said we should be getting them a week or two after we submitted the confirmation forms
