Hello all! Was wondering if anyone was thinking about/has applied for TWU's NP Program starting Spring 2019? If so, which campus and which specialty did you apply to?
Also, if anyone has been admitted to the TWU NP Program in the past few semesters, would you mind giving me a timeline as to how long after you submitted your application until you found out you were accepted? Also, any other stats like undergrad GPA, years of experience, etc. that you're willing to share in regards to your application would be appreciated!!
I look forward to hearing from you guys!
Well I called today to see if I could figure out anything, spoke with the secretary for nursing at Dallas campus, then was transferred to office of admissions processing, then to general admissions, then BACK to Dallas campus....anyways, come to find out the lady that will ultimately let us know of our admissions status is out on vacation for three weeks.....SOOOO guess we have to wait almost another month. Which kinda sucks because we all sorta have to plan around all this...but what can you do right??
Oh wow. Is it just the Dallas admissions coordinator who is out on vacation? Or is she the admissions lady for all campuses? It's been TORTURE waiting this long :'( I was thinking of calling the Houston campus today since everyone else has been hearing back from them already...

Torture is an understatement!! And just the Gorl with the Dallas admissions was out on vacation, i would definitely call Houston and ask what's up, because it's nice to know so we can, you know, start planning for the future!!!!! I hate waiting....hate it!!! Let us know what you find out!!!

Well my status under the Houston campus finally changed to "Accepted" today! Yay! So at least I have that for now :) Hopefully I'll get an e-mail within the next few days. But, still keeping my fingers crossed for Dallas/Denton as well!
finger crossed and good luck.. still waiting on the actual acceptance letter but my status has changed to accepted, finally!!!!
We'll get an e-mail/letter sometime in the next week or two notifying us of acceptance. And then, later on down the road in October/November or so we should get another one with details regarding orientation and other steps to take.
It took them 2 weeks exactly for my status to change to accepted..any idea what follows the acceptance?
I have not received any emails yet about the next step
You'll get an official letter in the mail and it'll have an advisor you contact. And they'll give you instructions via email. Acceptance is also good for one year FYI.
I submitted my application a couple of days ago for Denton. Today I received an email stating my application was received with instructions for setting up my portal and email with TWU. I chose Denton because I was told by a friend who is in the program that they will find a preceptor for you. So I inquired with TWU's graduate FNP program director, and she states "The faculty assist students with preceptor placement. Although we do place several students each semester, we cannot guarantee each student a site. Securing a site depends on the number of students requesting placement by faculty." This is comforting to a degree and you have up to 6 years to complete the program. I do not plan to take that long, but if any issues arise it is comforting to know I have this long to complete the program.
The program is geared toward the working student. You can go full time, part-time, or very, very part-time.

Is Denton an all online program or are you required to go to the campus sometimes? And I'm guessing clinical are in the Denton area and not in Houston?
