Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?
I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
FYI- If you order your books online with Amazon (their prices are WAY cheaper than UTHSC-H Bookstore even for new books) you can sign up for Amazon Student. It is free and it gives you FREE TWO DAY SHIPPING with no minimum purchase amount. All you have to do is prove that you are a college student by giving them your TWU email account. They will only use it to verify that you are an actively enrolled.

I know, I know...I have too many fabulous facts to share:D
This is straight from the website...
Current Amazon Prime Members
If you're already an Amazon Prime member, you can still sign up for Amazon Student if you are eligible. After you sign up for Amazon Student, we'll refund you the remaining months left on your current Amazon Prime subscription.
Yea, I read that they would reimburse me my money, IF I hadn't made a purchase using my membership....I have been buying stuff out da wazoo!!! It's too late for a refund, but I did go ahead and switch, that way they won't be charging me again next year....HA!! But thanks for the info, I wish I would have known that earlier....SUCKS!!
For me, it was the "specificity theory" and I think also "Pattern theory" of the Pain lecture.
This is the info I came up with... makes perfect sense because of the practice question... but iono, it might be wrong. (Remember, these are THEORIES)
-Specificity Theory - Pain has specific sensors (transducers) and specific nerve fibers to conduct those stimuli. These sensors and nerve fibers are not shared with any other sensation; they are exclusive for pain.
-Pattern Theory - Pain sensations share the same transducers and the same fibers that other stimuli share. For example, if you put pressure on one area of the skin, it doesn't feel good or bad, you just feel it. But if you increase the pressure, it might feel good (ex. a massage). If you continue to increase the pressure, it might become painful. This theory is saying that those sensations (neutral/pleasurable/painful) are from the same sensors, and just merely depends on the stimulus.
