TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

Does anybody know the chances for waitlisted people? Like how long would I possibly waiting for a call, if I ever get any luck? í ½í¸

There will be some people who apply to other schools and will take those offers instead. It's not over!!

I'm new to this and don't know how to quote...this is for Futuremidwifeuhs.

A few years ago I applied to PA school and was rejected several times a couple of years in a row, each time as upsetting as the one before. I finally ended up on the waiting list at the best PA school in Texas (UTSW) but didn't get a spot...life would give me a few crazy cards and turn me in a new direction, pursuing nursing. Not getting into the school you want is disappointing but it will help you work harder, and that effort WILL pay off. Have patience and keep trying...don't get discouraged!

Also, judging by your name...I have a good friend who is a midwife and has her own birth center in Kingwood. I could get you her information if you would like to ask her about how she became one?

Though a little late to the thread, excited to have found this gem today! Got in the weekend/evening in Dallas. Stats below:

Core GPA:3.692, Prereq 3.750

TEAS Overall: 96.7

Prior bach

Points: 65.61

Thank you so much for your kind words. Reading this lifted my spirits. This is my dream and right now o just feel like it's shattering. I know it's because I'm disappointed. I have a perfect GPA and still didn't get in. So confused and upset, mostly at myself. Hoping and praying to get into UTMB. If not I'll retake TEAS and HESI. And yes I'd love to ask your friend a couple questions. It's funny bc a lot of people ask me what a midwife is and I always have to explain it to them.
