Hello Everyone,
I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

I have a dumb question LOL, after submitting the ApplyTexas application for TWU in general, what is it we need to mail, if anything? Our transcripts? Or is that done on NursingCAS? I feel like I’m late to the whole application process.
Hello! Not a stupid question at all. Most colleges have an electronic transcript option in their student portals, and that's what I used to send my transcripts to TWU. Transcripts need to go to both NursingCAS and TWU's main campus for regular admissions.

They will tell you which ones they need! Once everyone comes back from holiday on January 4th, you can call the Office of Admissions Processing for more help.

I was told by an advisor in the last cycle that the "usual" cutoff score for Houston's first-round admissions is a 44, and the cutoff score for Dallas had not changed so they didn't think Houston's would either (although I don't remember what that score was or if that was even said during that conversation).

I plan to apply to the Fall 21' traditional program at the Dallas campus. I'm a transfer student with a 4.0 GPA - taking my TEAS at the end of the month! I know the traditional program at the Dallas campus is the hardest one to get into - especially as a transfer. Based on the admission point system, I've seen that mid-'50s & up is what's considered competitive. Does anyone know if this is still true?
Anyone else applying for the traditional program at Dallas? Best of luck to us all!!
Hello! Although I don't know what the Dallas cutoff was from last cycle, I believe this is still true because of the 18 point boost that TWU students get.

I want to apply to the Dallas campus but I am not sure my admission score is competitive enough. But I am also considering applying to Houston, because from past threads I have noticed that the admission scores that are accepted are much lower than Dallas's. Does anyone know if you are allowed to apply to both? Or if you apply to one and get rejected, are you offered a spot at the other if your scores qualify?
You can apply to both only if you're a prospective Dallas applicant. If you apply to Dallas and they don't have a space for you, you can be considered for the Houston program. However, as others have said in this thread, the reverse is not true (admissions scores are far lower in Houston than in Dallas).
If you decide to check that box, be aware it is for the full two-year commitment. We had students attend the Houston orientation in early December who had not moved yet because they thought it was going to be fully online and they were going to try to transfer back to the Dallas program. The Houston program director was not happy...the director told those students that they checked that box for the Houston program and if they can't commit, they need to give up those spots to the students on the waitlist who are eager and willing to be in Houston for the full two years. If you get offered a Houston spot and want to take it, you need to be fully prepared to move/make arrangements by the beginning of the semester.

I am applying fir N/W. I have 48 right now. Hope that I can get in. ??????
I am applying for the traditional and I have 65. Since I am a current student, I get those extra points which adds to why my score is relatively high.

I’m applying for traditional and I have a 51 and I’m just hoping that that’s good enough to be competitive enough for Dallas! I’m not sure if my preference was added to that score yet though, as I am a current student as well.

Hi Le!
The Mometrix book is good (and what I used to refresh myself on English and Reading) but it's critical to do all of the practice exams in order to understand your weak areas. The book does a great job of walking you through the concepts, but it doesn't give you a lot of practice outside of the three exams included in the book. I would recommend buying the practice test pack from Mometrix. There are also some facebook groups with TEAS prep resources in them, but I'm not sure where they are or how to find them. Even after taking it twice, reading was my weak score both times.
I don't know about N&W but when we would email advising last cycle (Spring 2021), I think someone heard back they got over 800 applicants. I don't know too much about Dallas, but the Houston traditional program has 120 seats.
