Hello Everyone,
I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

The classes are “fine” and manageable and I work full time. I’m not sure as how well they are prepping us for NCLEX bc I don’t graduate until Aug. I hope they are prepping us well! ?
Hi! I am a sophomore at the Denton campus and will be applying for Fall 2021 cohort. I took the TEAS in November and will be retaking it tomorrow. I want to apply to the Dallas campus but I am not sure my admission score is competitive enough. But I am also considering applying to Houston, because from past threads I have noticed that the admission scores that are accepted are much lower than Dallas's. Does anyone know if you are allowed to apply to both? Or if you apply to one and get rejected, are you offered a spot at the other if your scores qualify?

Hi! So with what I know, you are only allowed to apply to 1. However, when I filled out my application on nursingcas it gave me the option to be considered for a different program if I did not get accepted into the one I applied for. Unfortunately, it only works if you apply to Dallas traditional program and do not get in. Then they see if you are eligible for the Dallas Night and Weekend Program or the Houston program. It won’t work if you originally apply to Houston and don’t get in and hope to get into Dallas. So long story short, the option only works from Dallas to Houston and not Houston to Dallas. I believe it is because Dallas is more harder to get into and that is why Houston people are not eligible to get into Dallas as easy.
I hope this makes sense!

Yes, that does make a lot of sense! Thank you so much! May I also ask if you know anything about the accepted admission scores for this application cycle? I've been hearing a bit about how COVID is affecting this application cycle so I just wanted to know if anyone knows a rough estimate of the accepted score ranges.
TWU is changing their entrance criteria. I believe it's starting in Fall 2021. It will not be solely points based and will include like volunteer experience, work experience, etc. From what I understand, they found there were some 'personality' type issues with people getting in to the program, but since it's strictly points based there is no way to 'weed' people out that probably wouldn't be a good fit.
Also, I was told, by an advisor, if you don't get into the Dallas traditional and your score is higher than someone that was admitted into the Houston program, you could be offered a spot in Houston. It's my understanding that you cannot apply to more than one program, though, and it's not a guarantee that if you don't get into Dallas that you'll be offered a spot in Houston.
Hey. I'm applying to the Fall 2021 N&W program. Just curious, have you all heard if the applicant pool for Spring 2021 was greater than previous years? I'm wondering how COVID will impact applications. I spoke with an advisor in August and he said they had already received more applicants than in previous years. The program is already so competitive! I'm hoping to get in for Fall because I know the application process is going to change and I'm dreading needing additional classes, more volunteer work, etc.

Did you receive this information from an academic advisor, or is this just hearsay? I am a current TWU student and no advisor has ever made this reference in upcoming changes to their admissions process. I just want to make sure there is no misleading information given in this thread.

hi! I'm applying to UTA as well. you apply to the school first, once admitted you will have to do a 2nd application in your my mav portal for the upper division nursing. You have to have the 4 sciences completed (A&P 1, A&P 2, micro, and general chem (not intro). you also have to take some classes specific to UTA.
Feel free to DM me, their deadline is 1/15.

I am currently a senior in the WEP program at TWU. I was accepted Fall 2019 and will graduate Aug 2021. For those of you who are applying to the WEP please feel free to ask questions as I know how hard is was to get information on this program. In my class there was about 40 students accepted. I'm not sure what the cutoff score was at the time I was accepted with around 50ish points. I did not have a previous degree nor did I attend TWU. I was accepted as a "transfer" student.
