TWU Fall 2021 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

Okay, this might sound like a dumb question but when filling out the Transcript Entry part of the application, did you guys actually look at an official transcript or did you just fill it out based on information in like pioneer portal, because on there it has all my courses that I've taken even the ones that I got credit for from high school. I'm not sure whether I should order an official transcript for myself and one for NursingCas. Thank you!

if TWU is the only school you have attended, you can use the unofficial transcript they have for you. it will be the same info as the official transcript. everything has to be entered exactly as it shows.

Hi everyone,

TWU is my dream school....it’s so competitive.   I didn’t score too good on the TEAS my first time applying ...so I was not accepted.  This will be my second time applying.  I have 51.20 points and am trying to get into N/W....we will see what God decides.  I wish you all good luck ♥️

I am applying fir N/W. I have 48 right now. Hope that I can get in. ??????

I applied to the N/W program in Dallas. My admission score is 74. TEAS score is 98%, GPA is 4.0, and I have a previous bachelors.

Did you receive this information from an academic advisor, or is this just hearsay? I am a current TWU student and no advisor has ever made this reference in upcoming changes to their admissions process. I just want to make sure there is no misleading information given in this thread.

Hi,

Yes, so I attended an orientation in January 2020 and I told the presenter that I was planning to apply to the Fall 2021 N&W program. He made a comment about 'planning far ahead' and I asked if it was too far ahead. Anyway, long story short, he mentioned there might be changes coming up, but didn't think they'd be approved before I was trying to apply. Fast forward to my advising appt. in Sept. 2020 (the presenter was my advisor) I asked about the changes and reminded him of our conversation in January. He said the board was actually going to meet within the next couple of weeks and to shoot him an email in October and he'll know for sure. I sent an email on October 15th and he responded the same day and said, "No changes, those will happen in August, not for the Feb 1 deadline." I believe they will announce changes in August, but I do not think they will go into consideration until 2022 or later programs.

Did you apply for Fall 2020 or Fall 2021?

Hi guys,

I just want to make sure I did apply correctly.
So I have finished pre-reqs and admitted as TWU student (including sending transcript). So , the last step is Submitting NursingCas with transcript and upload TEAS scorec right?

Thank you!

Yes that's right, upload your 3 page TEAS score report onto the NursingCAS app, then submit your app when you are done with it, and also submit your transcripts to NursingCAS and TWU.

Thanks! But I check w. an advisor she/he said it should be verified by deadline. Maybe they will make some accommodations? Anyway, your answer make me so relief. ? I hope to get verified in a day too.

Just to be sure, does verified mean that NursingCAS will check your transcript entry with your actual transcript that you send to them, and if it matches that means you're verified?

Yes, that’s correct.

Hey! Were you able to retake the TEAS and score better? I know you mentioned before that you were retaking it.

Hi,

yes, I did. I retook it today. I am re-calculating my admission score. If it is good enough (maybe higher 55-56), I will apply to Dallas traditional. If not, I am staying N/W Program.
