TWU Fall 2021 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

Does anyone know the average points of people that got accepted in the Houston campus previous years?

Typically a score above 44 will mean you'll be accepted in the initial round for Houston. Scores a few points below will typically get waitlisted.

it begins with a C! I didn’t even know eligibility letters were a thing. are people who applied to the houston campus getting them?

C.

You should have received eligibility email.

You may want to search your email.

so I just checked and I did receive a letter saying I’m eligible, however everyone is talking about a point system and I have no idea what that is! ?

By early or mid April, acceptance letters would be sent out.

Hey guys!!

My name is Sara Myers and I am currently a TWU WEP student in my second semester. I've been peeping in here the last few days waiting to see when y'all get acceptance letters so I can creep into the facebook groups you'll make when admitted. I am on the board of TWU's chapter of the National Student Nursing Organization (CES) and need to be involved with the cohort that comes in behind ours.

ANYWAY, I just want to say "hi!" and let you all know I was EXACTLY where you are last year (and the year before that actually because I did not get in on my first application cycle).

Soon you will be where I am now! I hope you don't have to be tortured too much longer, but they usually send out the letters on a Friday.

Let me know if you have any questions, in nursing school you will rely on your classmates for information/help, we become one huge dysfunctional family for sure.

Hi Sara! ? Thank you for your kind words and checking in! I applied for the WEP program as well in Dallas. Do you mind sharing your admission score? I'm not feeling too confident about mine.

right. I wonder if prior hospital employment would help with consideration.

I know of two schools in Houston that take experience into consideration, so quite possibly. we will see!

there is a spreadsheet that is available on the twu nursing website that lets you calculate your score based on your science pre-req GPA (including stats and developmental psych) in addition to your TEAS scores. it also includes points for prior bachelor and completing at least half of the pre reqs at twu

this is how they rank us for admission.
