TWU Fall 2021 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

TWU is in Spring break this week.
don’t expect anything this week, they will send more letters next week.

It is a manual process that each advisor has to do and go through the apps one by one. Everyone will get an eligibility letter. Some people took over a month last time to receive it. Breathe.

I don’t want to alarm you, but if it was me I would be concerned and speak to one of the advisors to get some type of confirmation.

False. The advisors will not reply. They have automatice replies right now that states they are going through each app. It’s a manual process so do not alarm people for no reason. it is also Spring break for TWU.

Good point about Spring Break - I specifically said I DID NOT want to alarm, but if it was me I would be concerned - which still holds true!

I applied to Dallas traditional - admission score 61 (no bumps) & got my eligibility email this past Thursday - what program did you apply to?

honestly I wouldn’t worry yet - I think things just got delayed with the storm. As long as you know you have everything you need & were verified by nursing cas the only thing that reallly matters is the email that comes out in April ☺️

Yes, I agree with her, everyone will get their letters soon! It is a patience game, I was also in your shoes but I have received mines recently my last name is a K

I wanted to ask if anyone is looking for housing in Dallas?

@Aderonke

When did you receive yours?

How many applicants they accept each semester?

Just wanted to repeat some things I've said earlier in the thread that may not have been seen by new members on this thread.

  • Your admissions score does not determine when you will get an eligibility letter.
  • People with admissions score below the "accepted" and "waitlist" cutoff (those will get denied) will also receive eligibility emails as they met the minimum GPA (3.0) and TEAS requirements (64 on each section).
  • Having said that, an eligibility email is not a sign that you will be admitted or denied. It just means you met the minimum GPA and TEAS to be "considered."
  • When you applied does not determine when you will get an eligibility email, because they begin reviewing the entire pool of applicants after the deadline. The ONLY reason they say to apply early is to give time for your transcripts to make it to all the places they need to go (TWU, NursingCAS).

I heard it’s ~120 students but it varies.

which program did you apply to?

Hey everyone! I'm checking back in after taking a little break. I was feeling pretty discouraged about my admission score. Well, after sulking, I am ready to accept that I won't make it for the Fall 2021 cohort. With that said, I was already accepted last Summer of 2020 so am able to register for courses. My question is: would it be wise to register for pathophysiology via TWU Dallas over Summer (if I am even allowed to) and would that make a difference as far as added points when I retake my TEAS and reapply for Spring 2022? No previous Bachelor's or TWU boost. Thanks! ?

It would be wise as far as lessening the load during your J1 semester, however no extra preference or points are typically awarded. Also, the Spring application cycle will be holistic and not just point based anymore.
