TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Updated:   Published

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

Does anybody know if anyone who did NOT got to TWU for their nursing prerequisites (so they didn’t get TWU preference) has gotten accepted into the Fall 2020 program?????

I have a previous bachelor degree (not from texas) and my pre-reqs were taken at TCC.

If you go to the Twu nights and weekend webpage on the left click application information, open either link and on page 2 or 3 there is a sample for the class schedule.

Yes. I saw that. It looks like it is only for traditional program not for night and weekend program.

I am so over this wait! I’m most likely going to be declined. However, the longer I wait the more my hope grows to just have a bigger let down I’m sure. ??

3.45 science GPA

87.3 TEAS

39.5 Admissions score

Do you have a previous degree?

No

I got accepted at the Houston campus with no previous degree or TWU preference so it is possible. I scored an ~87 on TEAS and have a ~4.0gpa. (49 admission points)

I have a 3.6, 3.78 nursing core, 83 on TEAS... applied to dallas. I did the calculations and would be sooo much more competitive with the preference so kinda bummed

It’s on the bottom of the page labeled weekend/evening program. The first two tables are sample prerequisite class schedules then the next three tables are the upper division courses.

@BlondeBSNHopeful did you yourself have TWU preference when you got accepted?

I did not have TWU preferred, but I do have a previous bachelor's degree so I got extra points for that ?

Do they accept Pharm & Patho from DCCCD? I know UTA will.

They will accept some patho classes, you will have to submit the class you took syllabus to an advisor who will determine if what you took matches the TWU curriculum. I'm not sure about pharm though, I've only heard of them accepting patho from other schools.

I got in without a previous degree or the TWU bump; I was at UH one year and HCC one year. My overall admissions score was a 51.4 in the traditional Houston program

I took most of my prerequisites at Lone Star and some at UH. I had 44.7 points
