TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Updated:   Published

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

They do offer it online over the Summer. But the acceptance packet also says to not enroll in any class until instructed to do so by the staff, so I'm not sure what to do

You can enroll in patho, but you'll need to ask an advisor first. I'm taking it right now because I'm not available to take it this Summer

If they do offer it I highly suggest taking it before the fall semester starts!! Just makes your course load way easier for your first semester!

Do I need to talk with an advisor first, or should air try to get a spot when junior enrollment opens up in a week?

You need to get a registration code from an advisor, if I remember correctly

I'm in patho right now at the Dallas campus (although it's online now due to covid19) so I don't think you need a registration code. It's the only nursing class you can take without being a nursing student at TWU. I highly recommend taking it ahead of time! I'm glad I'll only have 12 hours this fall instead of 16.

You need registration code for online course. Advisor should be able to give it to you.

Correct, if you try to register for an online class you have to get a registration code from an advisor. I suggest emailing her asap to get it if you're looking to enroll in the course, it fills up quickly.

sorry I didn't realize there was a difference between in-class and online when registering. I agree...just contact an advisor so you can sign up for patho.

Got my acceptance earlier today to the N&W program. had 52pt

Is anyone planning on working while in the program? I want to work but also finishing nursing school is def #1 priority and I dont want to let my grades slip

I'm doing the night and weekend program. I work M-F 5am-1:30pm (40 hours a week) at a hospital and I have no plans to stop working.
