Whats the difference between what TWU offers, a bachelors degree called nursing, and a BSN degree?
I'm confused....
I mean, you get your RN license when you graduate right? Or is this useful when you need to go to graduate school?

There is absolutely no difference and don't let anybody tell you otherwise! And yes you get RN either way.

Just to clarify this, no there isnt a difference.
However, you graduate with your BSN, not your RN license. You have to pass boards to get your RN license, you do not graduate with it.
Thanks for the clarification. I read somewhere on the forums that TWU wasn't giving out BSN degrees they were giving out Bachelors degrees in Nursing. Well, I think thats the same thing!
Yeah I know you have to take the NCLEX after you graduate to get your RN license. I wrote that like at 1 am in the morning. Sorry!:roll

The reason TWU did this is because the dean said that is better for students to have a BS degree: b/e it is not self limiting, broader terms and if u want to do other things u can beside nursing e.g law school, accounting, teacher. They also said that a BSN would limited us to having a degree that says we only have a degree in nursing. (I am just going by what they told us)
I know plenty of "BSN's" and "BS with a major in Nursing's" who have gone to law school, gotten teaching certificates etc - it truly does not matter. What matters is does your degree meet the core course requirements. Did you take the amount of history, government, math etc for the course of study you are wanting to pursue.
"I am just going by what was told to me at school" I personally dont care, a degree is a degree

Does the TWU diploma say anything about nursing on it?
Nope - Just says "Bachelor of Science", Your transcript reflects your major.

HAS twu sent any letters to anyone for the fall of 2007???
Eh, that kinda sucks. I wish it would mention Nursing in the corner or something at least...
