Hi guys I hope someone can answer my question. So for Tvcc you take an anatomy exam on orientation day but it doesn't say if it's general anatomy or the physiological part as well. I am very nervous because I'm not sure what to study or which part to focus on since there's so much to study for. Can someone plz tell me what kind of infor I need to focus on for the anatomy test ?

Thank you ?

Did you ever get any guidance on this? I'm nervous about the test too.

Hello!

Who graduated or is in the ADN program, when they do the A & P and math tests, after orientation, does it means  that you are still in the program or do they do it to withdraw you from the program based on you scores.

Thank you.

Once you go to orientation (after accepting), you are in the program. You can take the dosage calc in the Summer (I advise you do this option) or have 3 chances to pass with a 90% or higher during the semester. If you don't get a 90 by the 3rd math test, then you will be withdrawn from the program

So if you fail the pre A&P test at orientation, do you have to pass the post A&P test that they give you before the Fall semester nursing classes start in order to remain in the program? There is a bit of confusion in regards to this for the incoming nursing students. I know everyone who failed the A&P class has to take the A&P refresher as remediation, but what happens if you fail the second or post A&P test? Thanks for your help ?

To be completely honest, our cohort did not have to take this test. Things were too chaotic at the time because of the pandemic unfolding. We didn't have an in-person orientation.

The only thing you need to focus on are your math scores, I also recommend taking the Summer nursing math course they offer, it's cheap and you get an extra chance at the math exam.

I don't think they ever kicked anyone out over failing the A&P post test. Looking back on my orientation power point, it looks like as long as you took whatever class they asked for, you should be good.

No problem, and I really wish you the best. I'm incoming level 3, and they are offering the mentorship program to the incoming students. You can sign up when they offer it if you're interested. They will let you know when.

Thanks for answering, how is the program going, is it doable? I appreciate some tips on how to study, what works for you?

Thank you

I would explore other options if you have any. This is a very difficult program and the faculty is not very accommodating. I believe less than half of our cohort made it through level 1.

It's mostly about time management. I took lots of notes during lecture. Also, I would go on Etsy and search "nursing study template", many of us use the disease/disorder concept maps as study guides. It puts it all on one page. I didn't pay more than $2.50 and it was worth more than any other study aids I bought or tried. I would stress listening during lecture over the other aspects, but that's just me.

It’s very difficult. The faculty won’t really help you. Try to review any exams you’re not successful on.. Watch Youtube use all the outside resources you can. Good luck!

If you fail the post A&P test, you aren't kicked out of the program (unless they changed the rules). I believe they'll tell you that you may struggle with the A&P in the disease exemplars that you'll be learning.
