Has anyone who applied to TVCC 2011 ADN program received an email or letter confirming your status yet?
I read on the website that this is a part of the process once you submit your application. I'm just wondering if they still send out status letters/emails.
Thanks
Thanks TXGRl1502 ,
I will keep that in mind. I hope that means that they will notify us of acceptance alot sooner too!!
Beamom I could not find any information about ElCentros' Spring Applications on the web. Where did you see the criteria and cut off dates.
Also How long is the LVN program. 12 month or something like that ? That may be an option, the only thing is , we would have to pay for the LVN and then pay for the ADN too ???? I wonder if it's full price on the ADN or what?
They don't accept a class for adn at tvcc in the spring, just lvn. I don't remember how long the program is for lvn, but if you go that way they have a bridge to adn that you could do. that just seems like the long and more expensive way to go but it's an option. El Centro and Brookhaven are accepting apps soon for the spring adn.
I AGREE! I WOULD HATE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING TWICE, I'M PROBABLY BETTER OFF WAITING FOR THE GENERIC ADN OR TRYING ANOTHER SCHOOL IN THE INTERIM. THEN AGAIN WHO KNOWS, THEY MAY GET INTO THE 9'S ON THE WAITING LIST. !!!!
THINKING POSITIVE : PEOPLE MAY RELOCATE; HAVE FINANCIAL SET BACKS; GET ACCEPTED TO ANOTHER SCHOOL; HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART AND THUS CAREER. I'M REMAINING HOPEFUL BUT PUSHING FORWARD WITH MY BACK UP PLAN ( WORKING ON bsn CLASSES) . I WILL GET THERE SOON AND WHEN I DO , I WANT TO BE READY.
ANOTHER THOUGHT I HAVE IS THAT THEY WILL OFFER ME A SPOT A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE BEGINING OF CLASSES AND I WILL HAVE TO SCRAMBLE TO GET EQUIP; FUNDS; ETC.
Congrats to everyone! Excited for you all!
Belli...you had asked which school was my current and it's Paris.
I'm bummed hearing about the new deadline. That totally is going to knock me out for next year. I should have had 11 pts for next year with the current deadline. I'm signed up for Pharm. (for my school) and Arts for summer but there is no way I can get them all in this summer though. I still need Micro., Arts, English, and Microcomp. for Tval.
About the LVN program at Tval, my main issue with that is that it is M-F, full time. I'm sure it would be good for some of you though, and surely they would not charge double. I would think it would only be a portion of ADN. I would think they would charge for hrs. just like normal and then some of the supplies should carry over. You would have to have new books and badges, and maybe uniforms though. It would be a little more expensive, I'm sure but if time wasn't an issue, I do it.
kREDS THE adn IS FULL TIME ALSO.
wELL i CHECKED INTO IT AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE, THE ADN YEAR IS PRORATED.
I COULD POSSIBLY SWING THAT IF I CAN GET MEDICAL TERM. COURSE COMPLETED QUICKLY. I'M REALLY THINKING ABOUT THIS ....GONNA CHECK OUT MORE LVN programs . WHY NOT GO FOR IT. I'VE GOT MOST OF THE CLASSES AND ....I WAS PREPARED TO GO THIS YEAR:clown:. SO DEADLINE TO APPLY IS 9/15/11.
I screamed when I found out!! Then I called a friend of mine to tell her (she applied too) she could'nt understand what I was saying lol. About 10 minutes later she called me and did the same thing. :)
About the schedule.....My friend that is currently in her 2nd semester at TVCC adn has lecture once a week and clinicals twice a week.
I should have specified...when I said the LVN at Tval was full time, I meant like a regular job, five days a week. The ADN is full time by college hours but not full time in the the same sense as the LVN. I really wish I could do the LVN though. I started out taking courses over a decade ago at Tval, so it would be great if I could complete the program there. I've known a few people who have gone/going there and it seems like a great program, with a great reputation.
Belli...They don't have straight ADN. It's LVN, the RN. I'd have to do summer, which for the second half is four days but otherwise, it's a three day program.

I forgot to tell y'all, on my acceptance letter it says they are changing the application deadline for next year - it will end on Dec. 1, 2011, so if there are any other classes you are wanting to finish beforehand you may want to take them this summer. Fall semester will still be in session on Dec. 1 so you may want to consider that. The plus side is those of you who didn't get in will have a better chance :)
