Tweety hope your friend succeeds in his battle with the insurance company

Ado my dad is like that, likes to hang on to things

Stars I hope you sleep better tonight

Dianah hope the vet visit proves quick and not too expensive

Work was worse than expected yesterday, lots of emails, some rather grumpy, and more documents than expected.  And a coworker out.  And I wasn't quite feeling myself, kind of blah and empty most of the day.  Was a bit of a struggle but I got through it

The rest of the day was pretty quiet, went for a walk and got my Covid booster

Today hopefully will be better at work.  After work have the usual grocery shopping and exericse

Will be cooler today, only up to about 70.  Glad the fall weather seems to be arriving

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a better day.

Sorry for the sleep issues.

Hoping the barrier islands are open today to the public so I can see best friend.  Rumor has it they open after 4pm today.  He sent pictures from his walk.  Lots of work going on and two strangers offered to help him should he need which restored a little faith in humanity.  Right now he's expressing no interest in a rental car (most likely none are to be had anyway) and the insurance company hasn't been by yet.  He's put a deposit down on a 2024 Toyota Corolla which won't arrive until next week.  Toyotas are in big demand and in fact while he was talking to a sales person the only one on the lot he was interested in was sold while he was on the phone.  He's one of those people that buys stuff in bulk at Sam's and elsewhere and is always prepared and though I've offered to bring him stuff or taking him shopping, he says he doesn't need anything.

My sleep hygiene is to take a Trazadone and melatonin and read until I fall asleep, which was after midnight last night but thankfully slept decently which isn't always the case.  I do need to try to get to bed a bit earlier.

Our bowling team won on all the game last night.  🙂

The gym was still out of power yesterday and hopefully sometime today will get power as I'd like to work out there.  I'm going to do some meal prep today and be healthy and all that.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Congrats on your bowling, Tweety. When we had flooding here a couple of years ago, it seems like many people waited months for insurance checks.

Joe, I hope you have no ill effects from your booster. All I got a a slightly sore arm.

We had a nice drive yesterday to take eldest ds and DiL to the airport. They were a little anxious because they got an email an 6am saying their flight to Dublin was canceled and offering a flight the next day. But this would have meant missing their connecting flight to Italy. With many calls, they got tickets to San Francisco, then to Dublin, but this meant getting to Seatac 4 hours earlier. So our plans for lunch together before the flight got changed, but we were glad we could get them there in time. We got lunch after dropping them off, then drove out to a lighthouse and a walk on a beach in West Seattle, then a leisurely drive home. The leaves are starting to turn, and looked pretty in the sunshine. I love this time of year.

dd called, she got a promotion at work which she richly deserves.

Dh wants to start painting the deck railings, if the rain holds off. And laundry beckons.

Have a great day!

Hello all!

nursej22, it sounds like last-minute flight changes and switches, for whatever reason, are almost routine these days...  I don't fly much, just am observing.  Safe travels to all, and good you got to have a nice meal out and a walk.

Tweety, yay for bowling wins!  I hope you are able to visit George soon.  Dh loves HIS Toyota Corolla, I hope George will like his.  The only quirky thing about them is the navigation is done through one's phone, not through a built-in system.  And it doesn't always connect.  Sometimes we have to pull to the side of the road so dh can re-set (disconnect, turn off bluetooth and wireless, then turn them on and re-connnect), and then it will work.  Maybe.

Hello Joe!  I hope you don't have many side effects from your Covid booster.  I need to get mine.

I slept pretty well last night.  Woke up at 5am because I was hot, -- hmmmm, my fan had stopped.  That only happens if the power is out.  Sure enough, power was out.  I went back to sleep, woke up at 7, and it was still out.  Dh says it was out from 3:30am to 7:30 am.  That's a LONG time for power to be out for (apparently) no reason!  He reported it, and we just got a phone message that power has been restored (yah, we knew that).

LuLu is acting normally, we'll see how she does as it gets closer to appointment time on Thursday.

We were scheduled to go to Disneyland on the 8th, but it looks like temperatures will be in the mid-90's there, so we may cancel.

Have a good day!

Joe, my work day yesterday was a real "Monday" as well. Was able to get more done today.

Yay for bowling wins!

I went ahead and got my flu shot today since I thought I should get it before I travel (Saturday) but not, like, the day before I travel. Had some chills and feel vaguely "off" but not too bad. I have not had the latest Covid booster yet.

Hello~

Another skroo'dup day. I thought SiL was supposed to come by at the usual time (1-ish) to do Nannie's shower and get her dressed and take her over to her house. But when I thought I heard someone close the front door and Momo barked, I went down to tell SiL that Nannie's urine is orangey because she is taking AVO for her bladder.

BUT! It wasn't SiL, it was NANNIE closing the front door! I asked her what she was doing upstairs and she said she thought ,or was afraid, that she heard somebody come in the door to get her. She, of course, apologized when I told her she wasn't allowed to walk up the stairs by herself.  I texted a message to SiL, then after a while I called and left a message for her. I GUESS she is at work?? Which would mean she won't get here until after 3 PM. Which means that after a shower/shampoo, IF she were to take Nannie to her house, it would mean that MAYBE she'd have Nannie for all of two hours before they brought her back. So I would only have a short time to do errands, and I will have to shorten the list to just going to the bank and then to Food Lion. GROAN!

Also, she had told me that she and BiL ,niece, and grand-dgt and her sister, will all be going to Myrtle Beach on Thursday and will be returning Sunday. Oh, GREAT. (sarcasm). Now is not the time, but I really feel like squawking a LOT. When they get back, I guess next week we will have to have a "talk". As in GET SOMEONE else to spell me on another day, in addition to Chatty CG. I am so hobbled by not being able to spontaneously do even the simplest errand. I'm TIRED of being STUCK, and feel quite taken advantage of. I should be allowed to have A LIFE OF SOME KIND!

Now I have to put the other stuff off until Thursday, and God forbid if CG has to call in. In fact I kinda hope she DOES call out, so I can really feel that squawking to SiL/BiL is absolutely called for, ie REALLY justified.

HAH....it is 2:35 and SiL just called and said she was on her way here. She said she would give her a shower, and then she said something about taking her to her house "for a couple of hours". To which I replied, "eh, what's the point of taking her off?" I told her to not bother taking Nannie over to her house today. So she just came and gave the shower, and rode Nannie around while she was doing HER errands.

------------------------------------------------------------

It is now 8:15 PM. SiL came and gave Nannie her shower, and I told her not to bother taking Nannie to her house for supper. I went out to the bank and grocery store and when I got back, just after I finished putting things away, she arrived with Nannie and a sandwich/fries/chicken nuggets for Nannie's supper. Which Nannie only ate half of.

Then I was watching the news and they kept talking about how horribly Asheville was doing after the storm. Not that I could DO anything about it, but I decided it would be 'nice' if I sent step-dgt a text asking like, how are they doing? Is the house okay? Any flooding? Vehicles okay? I was very torn about sending the text; I didn't want her to think I was offering anything, like money or a place to stay. Maybe I'll be lucky and she will ignore my text! Anyway, so far, no word back from her. No matter what, I know I am persona non grata to her. Maybe all the honey-dripping coo-ing she did when she saw Nannie last year......How many times did she say, [sounding so INsincere], " I love you, Nannie"? ....I'll tell you: many, many times when she couldn't think of anything else to say. But since she found out she is not in Nannie's will to inherit the house, I guess Nannie is also persona non grata. Ppfftt! I guess she thinks it is of no concern to her how Nannie is doing since her oldest son died, and she is not the least concerned about me, since my husband died, because..... It was HER DADDY that died. Oh well, that's how she is, and too bad for her.

I'm through now.

That's all I've got.

I'm sorry, Stars. How frustrating!

At least you can know you took the high road and inquired about stepdaughter's safety.

President Carter is 100 years old today. I voted for him in the first presidential election I was eligible to vote. But Reagan won.
