Tweety I'm just off for the 4th

Dianah it seems a fair number of these events attract very few people

NJ22 hope the headache has gone away

Stars I can understand you feeling depressed with your situation, caregiving can be very draining

Work was not good yesterday.  Got another new case and so did the person I was covering.  And more work has been added, something I was helping out with when I had time has become mandatory, only a half hour a day but with the workload currently it will make things tricky

Began to feel the anxiety creeping up, a bit of chest tightness and upset stomach.  But I got calmed down and got the work done.  Have recently begun starting work about a half hour early, for the time being will need to continue to do that

Rest of the day was pretty normal, did laundry and exercised

Tonight will get the grocery shopping done

Will be a warmer day today in the mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, I will remind you again, that the end of all your anxiety and stress-laden posts ends with "I got it all done".  Just skip all the drama and know you can get it done.  Just sayin'. Even if you can't, you can only do your best and call it a day.

Stars, I understand lethargy and depression very well.  Sometimes putting one foot in front of the other is tough, then things pile up and lethargy deepens and nothing gets done.  But you have more help than you've had before.  Is there somewhere free you can go?  A park?  A hike? Somewhere to get to nature and take a breath.  I know it's hot though and you have physical limitations.  I'm lucky that we have beaches and parks here.

I was up and tossing and turning dreading the alarm going off and having to get up for work.  Took a minute to realize it was an off day but I didn't get back to sleep.  Have been doing some cooking.  Need to go to the store and gym.

I never feel as if it's all done when I leave the office. But most of the time I can ride that wave. I try to plan ahead for deadlines.

I agree that getting out into nature is great for relieving stress and depression. But when it is so hot out, it's hard to enjoy a park. I wish we had a pool nearer by. My brother was complaining about "having" to go with his family to float on a river in Texas. I think that sounds like a great time. Anywho, how about a library? Cool, comfortable, tidy (you won't feel like you're neglecting chores), and lots of reading material?

My book club met last night at a coffee shop. It was a good time. There were, I think, 7 present and 1 on the phone. We discussed the memoir by the guy with Bipolar I. Someone said the book club has been meeting for 10 years and has read over 60 books. I think I joined them a few months before my mom's death, so about 9 years ago.

Got up at 11 AM, and when I came downstairs Nannie was coming out of her room. Her bed was strewn with jackets and scarves she'd been looking through. I got her bottoms changed, and out to the chair for breakfast. SiL arrived about 1/2 hour later and she has Nannie in the tub for a shower after wrapping her casted arm in saran wrap. She's going to "do" Nannie's hair and then take her to her house.

An across the street neighbor brought me a dozen fresh-from-his-hens eggs and some tomatoes from their garden.

I'm going to go to the bank, also to pay my cell phone bill, go by the post office, and to Harris-Teeter for a few grocery items that we always run out of first. Then I can come home and relax for maybe a few hours before Nannie is returned.

Gotta get on the road and get this over with.

Hello all!

I am scheduled to walk today with friends, though we will meet at 7pm -- it should be in the 90's rather than 100 degrees out, then!

I also have an appt with my Cardiologist -- just an annual check-up.  She wants a yearly listen to my ticker.  I have listened to it several times this year, and heard no changes.  In September it will be 9 years post mitral valve repair.  While I still have some bendopnea (SOB when I bend over), and some DOE (if I just slow down a little, I can muscle through), those haven't changed and are easily dealt with.  I walk for an hour with my friends, and we walk a lot at Disneyland, and I do weights and elliptical here at home, on and off (I am not as faithful with these as I should be).  My weight is down 15lb from its high some two months ago, and I plan to at least take another 10lb off in the coming months.  While my modeling days are over (Hardy-Har- HAR!), I still feel I am in pretty good shape for a 69yo, and plan to continue enjoying life!

No Stars, library (air conditioning and BOOKS!) sounds like a good outing for ya!  Hope you can get errands done soon, and then have time to yourself.  One day at a time.

Tweety, what are you cooking today?

Joe, good you were able to make it through; hopefully today's work isn't as challenging.  How is your cat doing?

We returned the RV to storage yesterday, and will soon get a list of quotes for some work it needs, per dh.  He understands we don't have the cash to do ALL the repairs at once!  Though it worked well while on our trip, the awning is beginning to fray and crack so will likely need replacing, plus a couple other things need attention.  It is 14 years old now, and things do wear out.

We plan on going to the mountains on Thursday, just a little drive and then a wee walk around Jenks Lake.  Maybe lunch or dinner out, at The Oaks restaurant, in Angelus Oaks.

We have no trips planned for July, but need to practice with the band, to be ready for our August set.

Have a good day!

Afternoon, all! Tis a sad day in the Rose household today. Left work a little early for a vet appointment... I left with an empty carrier. I'll be bringing her home in 3 weeks after she's cremated. Her littermate was assisted across rainbow bridge about 2 years ago for pretty much the same thing; I couldn't justify continuing to try this, that, and the other thing when I saw how it ended before and there's a probable genetic reason. Debating whether to hang onto her things or donate them - seems the cat distribution system has a way of finding me, so I may need them in the not so distant future. So if you have fur babies, please give them an extra hug for me today.

I'm sorry, Rose_Queen. I'm sure this one knew she was loved.

So sorry, Rose_Queen!  Agree, they knew they were loved, and they were in a wonderful environment in your care.  It's always hard to lose one.

I am back from my visit to my Cardiologist.  I have no murmurs, no swellings, no new DOE, no changes to ECG.   I got several cups of water delivered to me while in the exam room, as my BP showed up 80/56!  Both arms!  76/55 when standing (though the LVN took it immediately upon my standing, didn't wait two minutes and then take it).  I was not light-headed, or symptomatic at all.  At the end of the visit (and the cups of water), it was an acceptable 106/58.  The MD and I had our usual discussion about cholesterol (my numbers have always hovered in the 239 range).  I am crossing my fingers that the numbers will have dropped to suitable levels by the time I get labs drawn next, in a few weeks (August) -- as I intend to continue to drop pounds as well.  Tonight I will do my scheduled walk with friends, for about an hour.  High temperature today was 103, but it will be *only* 93 by the time we start our walk.  (again: 'but it's a DRY heat!')

Hope you all have a good evening!

Rose_Queen, I am sorry to hear about your kitty. I have my two pups next to me right now, and they have gotten extras scritches tonight.

I am glad today is almost done. I had a nice job this morning, but when I got home, my back got tight and achy, and laid down and took a long nap. I got a message from the counselor that I was seeing on-line to say she misunderstood my insurance and can't see me because I'm on Medicare. Later, my oldest sister called to say she was being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and also has a lung nodule. Not surprising in a 71 yo smoker. She will have a bronch and biopsy tomorrow. I went to see her, and she's only room air, nonproductive cough. She thinks she will be dc'd tomorrow, but I'm not sure. We will cross that bridge when we come to it.

dh grilled ribs and I made a macaroni salad for dinner, which we ate late because I was at the hospital. Took the doggos on a quick walk, and now ready for bed.
