Good morning!
Joe, glad to hear that work was slow.
I'm a little annoyed with the lack of communication between the roofers and the other teams. The guy that came to due to stucco didn't bring enough material because he didn't know the job was so extensive. The guy that came to pick up the debris in the front yard that's an eye, mostly the old metal roof didn't realize there was so much and the roof panels needed to be cut down to fit in the trailer. So the last day was really a bomb with very little done. Oh well, nothing I can do but trust the process. But I haven't made a final payment or made a final review. I tend to be very patient and leave 5 star reviews but they are trying me. LOL
Nothing much on the agenda today. Going to cook and clean and maybe go to yoga late afternoon.
I was glad to get all the work stuff. Now my license needs to be renewed and I need the CEUs that Florida requires but I have until April to do that.
My iMac is acting up after many years and it might be time to get a new one.
Always something.
Have a great day.
Good Morning....yes, because it actually still IS morning! I've been awake for a little over an hour.....there was a weird intermittent tapping I heard from downstairs; it was two or three light taps , a pause, then it happened again......and then again, and again. I went down to see what the heck it was......thought maybe BiL was doing some kind of repairs on something, but it wasn't. Thought it might be Nannie, I pictured her sitting on her bedroom floor, knocking at the door from the inside of her room, but it wasn't. Hmmm. I opened the drapes and some very large bird immediately flew away....couldn't tell what it was, but it had a very large wingspan and made a cry like a hawk. I thought it must have seen its reflection in the glass door and was pecking at it. Thought it might be a large crow but it wasn't black (and quoth the raven: nevermore?) Anyway, I realized it probably wasn't a crow, because they are supposed to be very smart, so pecking at a reflection of itself didn't seem likely to me. It was not scary, just kind of strange!
I fed Momo her breakfast and made a second cup of coffee for myself, and now we are back in bed. She is under the comforter, snuggled up against my right hip. We are cozy buddies!
SiL has gone up to visit her sister in Hendersonville and will be back Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday AM I have to set my alarm clock for early, because I have to get Nannie up and dressed; BiL will come by to get her and take her to the daycare center at 9 AM. Then the remainder of the day will be mine....until 4 PM anyway, when I have to leave to go pick her up. And since Chatty CG didn't come last Thursday (her 'last day') she will be coming this Thursday at her "usual " time, by which I mean 12-15 minutes late. Not that it really matters as long as she shows up, but she is NEVER here at 1 PM, which is her 'starting time'. Oh well, at least (I hope) she will be here this Thursday this week.
Since Nannie doesn't usually get up until mid-day, I can loll here a little while longer, or get dressed and do some more puttering toward getting stuff tossed out, or at least get a little of each chore: toss, donate or save/store put in separate piles for eventual distribution. (I am rolling my eyes and shaking my head at myself. Always so many plans, always so little time. DRAT! I feel inadequate to the tasks, but I would really, REALLY, REALLY appreciate if I could be left alone for at least a week (or a bit longer) to take care of this stuff ON MY OWN, WITH NO INTERRUPTIONS! I feel like Greta Garbo --- "I just want to be left alone." (Be careful what you wish for, Stars?) But seriously, I just can't apply myself to my non-linear way of cleaning up the various messes unless I am by myself. I DO 'work well with others', but I also am much better at accomplishing things if I don't have to 'socialize' while doing so. I am an independent self-starter, but I can't get going on anything when I know I will have to stop to do something else for somebody else. I want to be that 'somebody else' to do things for.
Anyway, times a'wastin', so I will now at least get out of my jammers and put on some clothes. And carry on with whatever presents itself, for whatever little time I have left before Nannie's routine starts.
A'grumping I will go, a'grumping I will go, Hi-ho-the-dairy-(?)-oh, a'grumping I will go!
Tweety, my friends in Arizona have talked about the trouble and expense of refreshing/repairing stucco regularly. Hope all is in place soon. I'm sure all the contractors have their hands full. But so frustrating for those waiting for work to be done!
We're enjoying sunny skies and temps that will reach 60 for a couple of days before crashing back down for the weekend. When I took soups to work the other day I spilled chicken broth down my pants leg and on my coat. The coat says it can be machine washed but I really like the soft fuzzy lining and I'm afraid it wouldn't come out as nice so I plan to get it dry cleaned. But maybe not until this next cold spell is over. You can't even tell where the broth spilled on the coat (not nearly as much as was on my jeans -- I went home and changed). I need to get some better containers for storing food for transport. I was using glass bowls with plastic wrap for covering. Those crockpots with clamps to hold the lid in place would be nice. We had one until I broke it while washing it.
Tomorrow is Hubs' birthday. He already bought himself a gift 🙂It's a choir practice night which usually means some kind of fast food. Maybe I will make a cake or a big chocolate chip cookie tonight.
Nice day here, in the low 40s. I made the final payment for our trip in March, booked hotel rooms for an extra day before and after. I am wavering on the airplane flights because the best deal is with Aer Lingus, and thats the one my ds had an issue with last year. hmmm.
dh went to a ENT today to get evaluated for "cough". I've long thought he had asthma because his voice will fade out before the end of a sentence. I often don't understand what he's saying, and he becomes quite annoyed when I ask him to repeat. Anyway, they looked at his vocal cords, apparently they're not moving and block air movement. He is going to get a speech therapy referral to hopefully strengthen his vocal cords. And maybe he will not lose his temper with me for asking for repeats.
The insurance company for the driver that collided with my car called (3 weeks after the accident) to determine liability. Gee, what's your rush (sarcasm)? No update on the car. Sigh.
Nannie and I are watching HGTV, a show called "Betting on Paradise." A couple moved to Costa Rica, and on a kind of whim, they bought a motel(hotel?) to fix up so they could make money while living in their 'favorite place'. They have had nothing but trouble and are waaaay over budget. The latest thing is their side yard developed a sinkhole.
I remarked to Nannie that they sure didn't do much research on anything regarding the property; I said if it were mine, I'd be crying and throwing up..
She said "I know. Look....." and started showing me how her jersey sleeves are pulled down to show, fashionably, the colors of the jersey at the wrist of the jacket.
This is why I am crazy.
I say something about the TV show, and she is on another planet completely with her sleeves.
I foolishly still expect her to make some sense. Tsk.

Work was slow again yesterday, hoping things pick up soon. But chances are they will once we're farther from the holidays
After work was quiet too, ran an errand and exercised. Decided to rework my profile on the dating app, we'll see if that makes a difference. Trying out a friend app too, we'll see if that works or proves no more effective than the dating apps
Today have grocery shopping after work
Will be colder today, only in the mid teens. Should start warming up by tomorrow
