Good morning!
Joe, glad the work flow is going well.
My brother-in-law hinted he may not be able to dog sit when I got to Italy in October. Maybe it's a burden, but he also has a new live-in girlfriend and is involved with vacationing with. her, and taking care of her mother, and her grown daughter lives with them, so maybe it's too much. Will work on an alternative. But finding someone to not crate them or board them and take care of their elderly needs will be difficult.
I got my crown yesterday and am 100% satisfied with it and glad to have that ordeal done. Now just have to wait until the next dental issue which happens to me often.
My jet lag remains. I slept about 4 hours after going to bed at 2AM and promised myself that whenever I work up I would stay up and return to a normal sleeping pattern. I need to go to bed earlier and earlier so I can return to work and get up at 5AM for that. Ugh.
GI symtoms haven't started today (yet) so hoping for the best.
I discovered about the equivalent of $75 in Indian currency and need to go sell it for dollars but have to go to Tampa. But it gives me something to do so I won't be tempted to go to sleep. Will do housework and some organizing of stuff. Laundry is put away from yesterday's load.
Have a great day.
Hello all!
Yesterday it was a steady but gentle rain all day -- no furious downpours. It's just ... WET out there! I drove out to do an errand, and made a point of driving past a drain/wash in the area. It's about 20 ft wide and 15 ft deep. It usually has a trickle of water at the bottom. In years past, I'd drive the kids past it when it rained, to see the water level and ferocity as it tumbled out from under the road. Yesterday it was at full capacity, a sight to behold! Today's forecast is more rain. Tomorrow about 50% chance of rain.
Tweety, I hope you can find someone you like who will do pet care the way you need it done. Good there is no residual pain after the crown! Fingers crossed that your GI sx are DONE.
Hi Joe! How far away is your alma mater?
Have a good day!
The first time I was aware of an earthquake was when I was living in an apartment in Indiana, pre-marriage. There was long rumble -- like a heavy truck on the highway -- but it went on for too long. Everyone ran outside and said, "Wow. That was an earthquake". I felt another one in Indiana that Hubs did not -- he was driving home at the time. And there was one the morning he was scheduled for his colonoscopy and he was sitting on the toilet -- LOL. We had some jokes about that one.
Of all the ones in OK since I moved back (I never heard of one in OK when I was younger, though I have read that we have a lot of seismic activity -- it must be pretty low-level) I was aware of only one, and I was working at the hospital in OKC on the 4th floor. Again, lots of rumbling noise like someone dragging heavy furniture overhead -- for about a mile.
Ado funny story about your husband sitting on the toilet during an earthquake.
I'm feeling better. Re-tested for covid, because I am a little nasally, no appetite and other GI symptoms and am negative again so I won't retest. Haven't napped so I hope to go to bed at reasonable hours rather then 3AM or 2AM like the past two nights.
I'm had breakfast but wasn't hungry at lunch. I made it to Tampa to get my Indian currency exchanged and stopped by Whole Foods. I was going to get lunch but didn't. I'm literally forcing myself to eat a sweet potato and cooking some white bean soup and pasta for dinner. It's very unusual for me not to have an appetite and the last time I didn't have an appetite was when I had food poisoning after my Peru trip. I expect to be 100% real soon.
I kind of have a feeling now that my brother-in-laws girlfriend and her daughter and cat live with him that they aren't thrilled about sitting with my dogs for long periods. I asked them to take them in May sometime but let them off the hook for the Italy trip. It is a bit much asking them to take them so much. Plus I can't reciprocate because his dog died (while I was dog sitting her you remember).
I found a dog sitter that I think I'll like. I asked for references and heard glowing ones from two of them, awaiting the third but I think I'll book him and hope for the best. Don't have a good plan B if that falls through.
Hi. It was almost cold last night (down to 37) but the sun is out and it's warmed up to 50. I met with some of the other master gardeners to plan changes for the coming year. A lot is up in the air, because new pathways are planned and a new water system, and we don't want to plant and then dig up and move stuff. We won't actually start until about mid March. I am meeting with 2 people tomorrow to discuss helping with a newsletter. I used to work on one with the health department that went out to provider offices, with exciting stuff like communicable disease rates, vaccine recommendations and TB screening.
Joe, good to see that the new work arrangement is going smoothly.
Annie, that is hilarious about colon prep and earthquakes.
Tweety, sounds like you are getting your internal clock turned around. I've found dog sitters on Rover.com that worked well, but my old guy Angus was pretty easy-going, and didn't have meds at the time.
Tonight is trivia. Dh is going to make some sort of fish chowder so I don't need to make dinner. I'm going outside to do a little garden clean up while the sun is out.
Golly, Dianah, I've been thinking about you as I read about Californian rains. I wonder if Steph, (Spideys Mom) is affected. Wasn't she really close to the Oroville dam when it got full, a few years ago?
Hey~
I think all I did today was wash dishes and do a small load of laundry. Thank goodness I put underpads on the sofa, Momo peed on it 3 times today! I'll have to call to make an appt w/ the vet. Momo knew I was upset because of my tone of voice; she curled up in the corner of the sofa with a dolorous expression on her face. Maybe the vet will figure something out by examining her. She still squeals when I pick her up, but I can't tell if it's her belly or her shoulders or what. I have always been careful about picking up animals (Hey, cutie, ? do you come here often?) so I don't stress their spines; I give them the proper support and all that. So, I dunno.
Going to read a while and then give it up for the day.
Ado Annie said:And there was one the morning he was scheduled for his colonoscopy and he was sitting on the toilet -- LOL. We had some jokes about that one.
When one earthquake occurred some years ago, I, too, was sitting on the toilet. I felt the rumbling and heard dh yell, "sit down!" I yelled back, "I AM!!"
nursej22, thanks for the thoughts! We are warm and safe here. Today will be less rain, so we are planning to do a couple errands. It looks like the sun is out!! Spidey's mom isn't real close to the Oroville Dam, but in the general area (Northern California).

Stars glad you were able to get your errands done
Ado that is a hard decision to make
Dianah hope the rain wasn't too bad there
NJ22 glad he was able to get an appointment this week
Tweety hope your symptoms subside
Work was fine yesterday. Was glad as I wasn't sure how the new arrangement would work out. Hope for the same today
Talked to the vet's office, the appointment will be moved up 1 month, which is good, would prefer to address any issues sooner
The rest of the day was fine, exercised and worked on dating profile some more. The thought of it causes me anxiety but I am gradually getting used to the idea
Have been thinking of visiting my alma mater, it's a long drive but haven't been down there in nearly 20 years. Have considered combining it with a visit to my aunt, who is on the way. Will have to consider the logistics of it any the rest of the vacations I will be planning
Another day in the mid 40s here
