Good morning!
Joe, hope today goes more smoothly.
Ado, hope there's less grumpiness in your future.
Glad you got Nannie disimpacted and don't have to deal with what you did last time. Did you get her on a daily Miralax or at least a stool softener or magnesium citrate? The funny thing about constipation is you can poop every day and have constipation. The Gut Health MD says you should have a satisfying complete evacuation that makes you feel good. LOL
Started bowling last night and had a losing night. Oh well it was fun and glad to be back bowling again. I miss it during the Summer.
I slept until 8AM, way too late but it is what it is. Been tired and lazy this weekend. Need to snap out of that.
Morning. It rained off and on all day yesterday, sun predicted later today. I did take a nice long bike ride, then got a facial for a little self care. I tried to return the window treatment sample books I borrowed from Lowes, but I didn't have the receipt . And my card didn't match their system, so they refused to return my $50 deposit. Had to get the manager involved. Turns out, when you use your phone to pay, it generates a different number from your debit card. I didn't remember that 2 weeks ago I had used my phone instead of my card. Jeesh. It didn't matter that I could show them on my bank account the date, the amount, and the name of the store. They needed the number. My fault for not having the receipt. But I got my shades ordered, should be here in 2 weeks. I was going to look at bike carriers but I was too irritated with the people at Lowes. I have a Master Gardeners meeting tonight, work at demo garden tomorrow, drive sis to Seattle on Thursday for doc appt, take other sis in Friday for portacath placement. Looks like a busy week!
Yes, Stars, Miralax is highly touted for regular bowel movements, I suggest you check with Dr for how often to use it.
I found today's Diary entries, finally. I don't know why I kept getting (and still do) a screen that said "Sorry. New club. We are just getting started" Really? Aren't computers FUN?! 😜 Don't know why I am so lucky to run into a brick wall again.
So I took Nannie out to do a few errands. She remarked a gazillion times about how many cars there were on the road, and the funniest thing was she said the town we went to (Mt. Pleasant) must be "brand new" because she didn't recognize any of it. Yeah, well, It's only been there for at least 100 years or more!
I got everything I meant to get EXCEPT for the YOGURT for Nannie's breakfasts, but no big deal, she can eat multi-grain Cheerios with banana slices (or some other fruit like blueberries or strawberries). I am not going back out in this heat (close to 100) for yogurt. I can get some tomorrow some time.
The sundowning has started. I stopped Nannie from scooting out over the foot rest of her recliner, which annoyed her. I asked her if she was going to go into the bathroom, and she said, "NO. I'm going into the RESTROOM to see what I have to do." and then I made her really mad by asking her if she felt like she had to poop. She said "Well, *I* don't know! What else have I got to do?" (Well, I sure don't know! Her brain and her body aren't communicating with each other very well any more.)
Back in the recliner and she is frowning and fussing with her little pile of paper towels, the buttons on her jacket, and the sleeves of her shirt. I am going to see if I can distract her by giving her supper at 5 PM. That's early, but if she will eat, she'll forget about whatever else she's cross about.
Called that RN who left me a message about wanting to know what things/services she can help us with. BUT, Nannie's insurance won't cover home health visits. The doc would have to come up with some correct coding to do that, and Nannie "doesn't qualify". I told the nurse I would have my SiL call her and see if they can come up with any other options. The RN said she knows how stressful this dementia care-giving can be, because her family is going through the exact same thing with her mother. I reckon lots of people are also going through this, so why don't the insurances come up with something that is actually HELPFUL without having to jump through hoops to get assistance? OH WELL!
Okay, let me see if I can get Nannie to eat.....
dianah, sounds like a good day but hard to imagine Halloween festivity with 100 degree days. Not that we don't sometimes have such warm days in late October. We do. Since the sailboat is in the driveway for the foreseeable future, I plan to put our skeleton on it with a pirate flag and other pirate-y things. Kind of jazzed about it. But I'll wait 'til mid October 🙂
It was a nice evening and we sat outside for a bit but then the mosquitoes attacked.
I've been able to avoid the grumpy people today, for the most part. I try to be understanding with patient complaints but the ones that get under my skin are the cowardly keyboard warriors who post online about their "horrible experiences" but when you look them up... hmm... the story they tell isn't quite right. Makes me wish we could ignore HIPAA and tell the real story. I mean, not really, but ... you know what I mean!
Filling Nannie up with stuffed baked potato, cranberry juice, some pudding and a little chocolate cake. I will get something else for myself in a while. Momo has her eye fixed on me because she thinks she should get a nibble or two from my supper....but since I don't have any supper right now, I don't know what she thinks the staring will do....light a fire under my butt?
A new thing: Nannie chews with her mouth open now. How lovely.

Your MIL is slowly deteriorating and is nearing a point where she will qualify for a hospice benefit. That will provide you with a little more support.
Stars, I do believe there was a glitch sometime today. Like when I hit "what's new" and it came up blank. Seems okay now.
I wish sometimes we could call out those people online that tell lies. One said we delivered a used bedside commode which was a lie since we don't offer any kind of delivery service for DME. Another claimed we never answered the call light. I remember him because he called his daughter to express his needs, and I went to ask him why didn't he just use his call light? Really where are our rights to protect us from lying patients seeking some sort of attention?
I get all my grocery receipts online and pay with an app on my phone, so I have them whenever I need them. I'm annoyed because cooking dinner I looked everywhere for some green onions and cilantro I know I bought. But according to my receipt I did not. I must have laid them down getting some other produce or something. I annoy myself sometimes.

Tweety that sounds like an interesting recipe
Ado glad he got the lawn mower working
Stars glad she's feeling better now
Yesterday started off not too bad at work, busy in the morning. Then 2 new cases and a bunch of calls came in during the afternoon, making things rather crazy. Got almost everything done, except for some of the work on the 2nd new case. Did stay a little late to get all that accomplished
Did not do anything that evening apart from exercise. Was so hot outside didn't really want to go out anyway
Hopefully today will be less crazy, unless I get some new cases it should probably be better. Will do the grocery shopping after work. Going to be trying to do some fasting to make up for not being good about the diet the last 2 days, we'll see how that goes
Going to be nearly 100 today, with pretty high humidity. Thankfully things will cool down by tomorrow
